Just ordered my procede rev 2.5se!

So after much reading of various threads etc and of course the sale price. I couldn't let this slide. Still apprehensive about the install and well issues that exposed when running a tune but hoping for the best. I went with Vishnu bc I felt they were always figuring things out. This is my first performance euro. Accustomed to Japanese tuned cars. Hope I don't regret it. I have no warranty etc. my car has 9000 miles on it. Yes I don't drive the car. Anything I should do before installing the tune? Car had hpfp and all six injectors replaced already on it. I recently threw an exhaust cam code so I have solenoid to change still. Would I need to change plugs?

I just got the same unit on Monday. I know basically nothing about cars but was able to complete the install myself in an hour or two with no problems. Just make sure you have a 8mm socket wrench (I used an adapter for a screwdriver-style handle which worked great), and a small, sturdy flathead screwdriver for prying things here and there.

Watch the install video on youtube a few times so you're semi-comfortable with what you'll be doing ahead of time. Aside from the unclipping stuff to get everything apart, it is very straightforward and would recommend anyone else try it themself. This is especially true since you might want to take it off for certain types of services in the future...

Good luck!

I should also add to be VERY careful with the green power cord's clip mechanism as I actually broke off the little flap on mine during this (even though I was being careful). Luckily the flap will actually go back on and stay in place without being attached at the base. You'll see what I mean once you get in there =)

Mine didn't throw any codes so overall it sent as smoothly as possible. I've only had it in for a few days, but from what I can tell you the reviews are all true. It feels like a different car in terms of power delivery. Install it and tell us yourself what you think =)

At 9,000 miles I wouldn't change the plugs, wait till 20-25,000 miles to change them. BMW says they don't need to be changed till 60,000 miles but with a tune its recommended every 20-25k.

I did the exact same thing LOL

OP, if you can afford it, you might as well replace all 6 spark plugs. How many miles is on your car?

edit: nvm just read 9k, yeah the plugs don't need to be changed but like bceagle said, every 20-25 with a tune.

I did the same thing with that green clip but mine fell into a black hole never to be found again. It has not been an issue though, the pins are held in by themselves not sure what the purpose of the green flip cover is.....maybe just added protection

The intall is pretty simple just make sure that you have the right maps for your type of car. ie 6AT maps for 6AT, 6MT maps for 6MT car. my initial problem was that i didn't have the right maps. but once it got fixed, with the help of another e90post member, we were able to get it to run fine. good luck.

They asked me for some details about my car when I ordered and sent me my unit with the correct and most recent aggressive maps pre-installed. I'm confused why that wouldn't be the case?

They supposedly did the same thing for me but i encountered some issues when i ran it first. Anyway, mine is most likely just a fluke and yours should work fine.

Did you install it yet?

How does the Procede tuned 335is compare to a stock 335is in overboost mode? I was looking at the Cobb dyno graphs and it seems the Cobb tune didn't make significantly more power than a stock 335is. Is there a noticeable difference w/ your Procede?

I think that the power delivered by the procede is definitly noticable. but from the get go Shiv told me that the overboost will no longer be applicable in the "IS" as it is also a tune that was done by bmw to increase the hp/tq therefore bypassing the ecu makes it essentially the same as the 335i with the extra OEM cooling and the DCT.

What about the serial port. Where did you pass it? Our glove compartment is on the opposite side.

You really don't have to, it's just an extra precaution. I just recently installed mine and if you watch the video, it'll be very easy. I don't know if you have E85 where you are, but those maps are a BLAST!!!
