For those who have CAI, did you keep intake scoops?

I just picked up a Stett intake.
Stett sell block off plates for above where the scoops go.
this is hypothetically to keep air going into your radiator.
I was just thinking that with scoops and leaving the openings unblocked may help remove engine heat from under the hood (i have a vented CF hood BTW).
just wondering what other stett/dinan owners thought of this

I left the intake scoops for my DCI, because it funnels air to them...but the Stett intake is a CAI not a DCI, isn't it? I don't know that it would help to leave them open with that or not.

Like Georgelb said, there isn't a need.

I have the Stett CAI and an ER FMIC, no issues with heat on my engine. If I were to get real serious about temps, I wouldn't use scoops, I'd use meth.

IMHO, scoops aren't needed with a CAI. I used the blocks that Stett sells and I find it a lot easier to keep my engine bay clean.

If I had intake scoops I'd still use them with my Dinan CAI because it still pulls air from the stock location.

I had scoop prior to adding my Injen Intake (not a true cai I know) so I decided to keep them as injen intakes keeps a funnel to bring air to the filters. As you have a CAI that goes down in the bumper just remove your scoop and sell them for some money (or if you have colored sccop keep them for looks if you like).

I took mines out because they block the radiator a bit and there is no need to funnel air with a CAI.

+1 on the engine area is cleaner after scoops removal.

You don't need them. Look at it this way, the scoops were there in the first place for your intake and intake only - not to cool the engine bay. It looks so out of place with the OEM airbox removed. I have the Stett intake blocks. It will help keep your engine bay clean and channel the air to an area that needs it more - the radiator.
