COBB + Pedal Box V3

Got a V3 Pedal Box today as I was interested to see how the new curve edit would go. on drive map. very very impressed with the mix. sport 2 in DS was rather wild. so any one thinking of putting the two together it get's a thumbs up from me!. aggressive with sport 2 would be one hell of a ride imo! can't comment on S2 I have never been there. will look at sport linear with it down the track.

The new pedal box is great, this new function of curve edit is excellent eco with 2+ in curvature is my fav for now .

A link to where you got your V3 Pedal Box from would be appreciated!

you have linear maps that smooth it... doesn't take away drive by wire... from what I understand.

the only worry i have about these throttle things is your gearbox, as it puts you into more load a lot quicker... true false?

not sure how long i will keep mine as i am already starting to drive like a dick again, this is the reason i got rid of the last one.

Sport map V3 Pedal Box

Tonight gave sport map run on normal and linear.

Linear
Smooth increase as expected once the pedal is on eco its not jumpy at all very direct 3-4k is really nice. Didn’t go over 4500k only had it in drive, car was warm but oil gauge was at 2 bars, 5 degrees when i was driving around... ran in both sport and sport 2 these maps made it feel like normal sport map when you pushed it just jumped.

Normal sport, felt a bit over the top car just booted in sport setting on pedal box. Didn’t try sport 2 as it was hitting 100 way to quick from 50 ( iwas in a 100 zone)... imo a bit over the top for normal street driving... I didn’t even try DS.... no need!

the only issue i have with the pedal box is that they chew up fuel.

hi BMBaller, congrats on your new ride.

Pedal box basically enhances your throttle response. Instant throttle. some like some don't like on here. But to be honest with you if you run a tune you might not need one. I have used it twice since i installed it.

Please describe how it 'enhances' throttle response? Does it do anything in mechanical terms for decreasing the perceived lag between press down the throttle and the power comin on? ive driven cable throttle cars previously and i see this as the biggest issue with the BMW.

I have his previous one, no power gains but the car is more responsive every time you touch the pedal.
You feels a lot better IMO

you drive a diesel tho so dont think your experience is applicable for the 335i, diesels are tuned will a duller throttle response for fuel economy.

by responsive do you mean that pressing less of the pedal gives you more go like simply tricking the ECU into thinking it is pushed down more? or does it actually cut the lag time between your foot's movement and the electronic signal reaching the throttle? The latter is what im worried about. I'm not a retard and can push down further on the throttle if i want more go.

Yes like i said, the electronic throttle does not have the immediate response of a cable one. that is what i want to get rid of, this pedal box gadget doesnt seem to solve that problem.

never said it was anything special. the throttle maps on the diesels are definitely duller for improved fuel economy. there's no arguing that.

Btw the N54 is not the same engine block as the N52.
