Fftec/Vishnu single turbo kit

I'm interested to see how many people are going to purchase this kit.

Any one gonna try to start a group buy??

No one knows if it's going to fit the 1 but I still want the kit ahhaha any input? Any buyers?

Comparing the kits that they have on the site I can't imagine that it's going to be greater than 5k. They have on the fftec page a single upgraded turbo for the evo seems like same amount of parts and fabrication except for the extra 2 cylinders an it's only 4k.

I hate to present you with bad news but the the N54 single turbo system will be more expensive than $5k. And this is not a "BMW Tax". But rather a reflection of the time it takes to make the hardware. Not to mention all the R&D that went into the development of the kit. We did it right the first time (long term durability testing, multiple test cars, etc,). It will be priced fairly but don't expect it to be in the same range of a 4g63 turbo systems which have been around for 10+ years.

pricing normall comes down to :

high volume low prices
low volume high prices
OR if its a bmw = high prices

if someone comes up with a kit i will most likely buy the manifold/downpipe and piece together the rest so the bmw tax isnt associated

if the manifold is more than 2000 and downpipe is more than 600 im sure full race will come up with something in that price range and make a killing

So, it's "next week" now. Where's the pricing?!\

Also, you didn't answer his question about a groupbuy

:,,( have you guys investigated if any of the kits maybe the smaller turbo would fit the 1 series?

Also the kit is being sold with your computer. What are you doing for the people who already own a vers3? Is there a new design to the one that is being offered with the kit ?

At this point I would have to break the piggy bank for this turbo kit. Anyone need extra cash for their old set up I need a front turbo.

everyone seems to miss that their only a handful of people that will fork over more then $5-6k. All the others are young people with not that much disposable income to buy an expensive turbo kit.

The n54 equipped cars depreciated vastly and now all the 17 - 25 year old people are picking them up for around $20-$25k.

So iam guessing this kit is going to be around $8k and thats a guesstimate. So thats roughly 30-40% of what the car is worth.

I hope all businesses the best but i dont think the price is what all of people will pay.

i think the price will be fair. anyone that frequents this forum, will know, it took a lot to get the N54 where it is now. I'm not expecting this to be dirt cheap, but i guess the price should level off after they streamline the whole production process for the single turbo kit and a lot more kits are out on the street.

I for one, wont go single turbo until my warranty expires, but i dream of the day i have 650whp

We are quite certain that our single turbo kits will fit a 1 series. There is no reason it should not. In fact, there is a bit more space available near the engine mount.

If you already have a Procede, no problem. You don't need to get another one

IF you have to ask how much it costs you probably shouldn't be buying it. As long as its under 10K it should be a fair deal.

ahaha you are nuts...... if the kit is 10k i can go to my welding guy and purchase all the parts separately and have him weld me a complete exhaust manifold and complete exhaust for less than 10k......

look Nothing against any of the people who pay 1,200$ for a FMIC 3-6k for a exhaust for their 1M.. Theres just a fine line that it becomes rather stupid to spend so much money on a product that another company can supply the same results for less...

for instance the BMW performance seats... they go for 6k on bay....recaro is the manufacture of the seats and they sell them debadged for 1499 each......

Look at MKIV Supras... yea, you can pick one up for $20-25k and they'll have 100,000 miles.... still people are scooping them up and putting $20k in mods on them.

Vishnu will sell his kits just fine, all the whiners in here are just trying to get a "discount."

yeah but do you see "old people" that have stupid wheels, smoked tail-lights, stickers all over, cf trunk lip add-on, etc etc on their 335s? yup. the biggest mod they do is putting some alumni license plate frame as if they were driving a 6 series.

Pricing will need to have multiple levels since the people buying these kits may already have a procede and meth kit.

I think whoever said $7-8k is probably correct for a car that needs all mods including tune.

Probably should be close to $6k for people with meth kit and tune already.

But what do I know, these speculation threads are ridiculous. This isn't the Price is Right.

10k is my prediction as well... dont count on a 4-5k kit like the Evos which are left and right. For reference, check out how much an Ess m3 supercharger kit costs that makes 100 WHP less. Oh and by the way, the sc for m3s are made by 5 different companies whereas here, Shiv is the only one... Just something to think about... then hop over to HPF and see how much a turbo kit for an e46 M3 costs which makes less power still in the lower stages.
