ST Coilovers Unboxed
I just recently purchased ST Coilovers from The Suspension Source on eBay for a ridiculously low price.
They arrived today, so I snapped a few pics... Review to come soon, as I'm installing these Saturday. A lot of people may say, "Why did you go with a galvanized coilover instead of stainless steel?" The answer is simple. I tried to go with Eibach Pro Street S, but there's a nationwide backorder, and I didn't want to wait. The next obvious stainless setup would have been KW V1, which would have been $300 more. I'm fine with spraying down the coilovers with anti-seize a few times before and during the winter. Shouldn't be too difficult. Post Updated Initial Thoughts: - I'm initially set at Front 25" (fender apex to ground) clearance, Rear 25.5" clearance. I like slight rake. - Rides way smoother than stock ZSP. - Not harsh at all on bumps. - A tad jumpy on bad roads but better than ZSP. - Handling improvement is noticeable but not as much of an improvement as I thought, but then again these are pretty soft. - I'm happy with the setup! Thanks for posting pictures. Usually the only pictures we see are of the car after the suspension has already been installed, and of course you can't see the actual parts.
The yellow springs look good and kudos to you for going for a coilover setup vs. just springs. Might want to post a DIY on anti-seize because I don't think there is one. That's a pretty important thing to do with galvanized steel.

I'll have to PM you the price... You shouldn't be jealous. These coilovers were about the same cost as the Eibach/FSD package. They're the cheapest German-made coilovers money can buy. Well, Vogtlands may have been slightly cheaper but they're harder to find in the US.

I'll definitely take some pics after installation and provide a review. I'll also try to eventually post a Anti-Seize DIY once that time comes. I rarely ever drive my car in heavy snow anyways, so that's another reason why galvanized is okay with me. |

Thanks! They seem very high quality. I have only had Taiwanese coilovers before and these are so much higher quality. Very happy with my choice based on aesthetics. I'll let everyone know more when I install these puppies.

Whoa, the adjustable locking collar looks plastic? I'm probably wrong...

Truth. Also, ST only offers a 5 year warranty whereas KW offers lifetime warranty. Besides that, that statement is true.

Will post a full review this week and prob have to wait till next week for pictures, cause this week is crazy busy.
