I'm not the first, right...exhaust

Right now I have PLM 3in kittyless dps, and removed 2ndaries...just pipe welded in place.

The rest of the system is stock E90.

I'd like some more sound, but not a ton more.

A couple things I thought about:

I have access to a free E92 "resonator"
or
I could put an x-pipe in place of the E90 resonator...

Any experience or thoughts?

i'd recommend the x-pipe. it sounds a lot better than divorced piping. x-pipe sounds a little higher pitched (not a ton) and more rich (if that makes sense). i personally love the sound of a stock muffler, catless downpipe, cat delete, with x-pipe

e92 doesn't have a resonator by the way. it may look like that because of the heat sheild, but it's really just an x-pipe. go that route

I love my exhaust setup. catless downpipes, secondary cats deleted, stock resonator in place, stock exhaust. If I want more sound I can always do golf tee mod. Not a fan of it personally though.

That's what I thought the e92 was...an x pipe with I guess a heat shield.

Would there be much difference between that and just having a muffler shop putting an x pipe in?

no difference. most muffler shops will use the magnaflow 2.5" x-pipe, that costs around $80. if you have a free e92 x-pipe, just use that, it's all the same really
