Are they spots caused from bugs that you wiped off or are they underneath the bra. If you have a white car then often times you'll see rail dust from transport that won't show up until you apply the clear bra. If you have a 3M bra then bugs won't stain it but if its any other brand then bug guts can and will stain the clear bra because there is no CC protection.

So, are you recommending that the car be clayed before a clear bra is installed?

We have a 3M clear bra on our Lexus and get the same similar spots. I did clay the car before claying. I would recommend doing the same also. As for removal, have you tried using Plexus?

Did you seal your bra with wax or sealant? Bugs and etc get washed off very easy for me with no marks left or chemical cleaning necessary. No yellowing either. I've got 3M too and use Zaino on my clear bra like the rest of the car: AIO, Z5Pro/ZFX, Z6, Z2Pro/ZFX, Z6, ZCS, Z8.

Those would be from some certain bugs. They will go away with the sun(the sun will bleach them out), so dont worry about it.

The orange spots will go away in the sun. The sun bleaches the film out. If you want to speed up the process you can use wesly's bleach. (sp)

Hi ZuerstBmw (Mike,) how are you?

LedZep, yes I would clay bar your paint prior to putting the bra down.

3M is the only clearbra that has an actual clearcoat protecting the pours of the plastic. Without the CC bug guts will easily stain the bra by impregnating themselves into the unprotected film...trust me I've had it, but not anymore since I now only put 3M on my cars. I can let bugs sit on it for days or weeks and them come right when I wash the car and leave no stain and I don't wax the bra or put on any special treatment.

That is certainly good to know. As I mentioned before I do have 3M but my experiance is a little bit different. I did not wax my bra for 30 days and had to clean off bugs during that time. Most of them did come off without much problem but there were a few of a certain type and size let’s say that would not come off easily or even completely no matter what I did … just my experience that is all. So, I always keep my bra sealed like the rest of the car and never had this problem again.
