replaygain
My current car has an after-market stereo, with iPod connection. It does not pay attention to Apple's "soundcheck" or to "replaygain" tags, so I have to do a destructive mp3gain operation on my mp3 files.
Is this still going to be necessary when I get my F30? I am hoping that the new BMW's "infotainment" system pays attention to the (non-destructive) replaygain information to normalize the volume. Any tips or tricks are welcome. Thanks, John |

Apple's soundcheck/replaygain as well as the EQ settings are only available through an iPhone/iPod's headphone jack. The line out audio through the dock connector is a plain pass through of the audio (no amplification, no EQ, nothing).
BMW's audio player most probably does not use the Replay Gain tags embedded in the fiiles. So I would say no. |
