BMW performance springs on xdrive

I want to add the yellow BMW performance springs to my 335 xdrive to help eliminate that wheel gap, I like the way the regular rwd 335i's sit and I also want to retain my warranty so I think this is a good choice. My question is, I was hoping to only add the performance springs and retain the original struts/shocks, but I have read that doing so will decrease the life of these components. Is this actually true? has anyone had a strut fail prematurely on them from adding a stiffer/shorter spring?

Thanks for any input.

I run the 335i yellow perf springs on my xi, it's all the same, you need to use an "i" vin number with identical spec as your xi to get the proper springs, I.e. sport package, 6mt, etc. New shocks are recommended, bilstein or koni so your valving matches the increased spring rate.

Did you use the stock struts? If so how is the ride compared to the stock xdrive springs and did it help eliminate the wheel gap up front?

thanks
