Sucked MF Rag into Turbo Inlet
So just like the title I sucked a rag in to my rear inlet pipe; yep accidentaley had my foot on the brake when I hit the start button just to get into auxillary mode. Car only ran for about five seconds or much less as quickly as I could turn it off.

The rag physically went into the rear inlet? Did it hit the impellar? The rear pipe diameter expands and necks down again, if it got caught where it reduces you may be able to use a grab stick and pull it out. Otherwise, taking off that rear intake tube is a bitch.

I would get a long flexible claw/grabber tool and try to fish it out. Like Tzu said, hopefully it's somewhere around the neck on '13' in the illustration below. |

Yea thats the grabbing tool I meant. I don't know its official name lol.
He probably used a rag to block the inlet after taking the intake box out. I do it too. But OP must have used one hell of a small rag. |

Theres a attachment on the wet dry vac that is a tube (used it to clean my valves).....attach a large vacume hose to this with a clamp and it will grab the rag.

Oh smack!!! Did you hear any abnormal noise when it was sucked in there? It doesn't take long before it makes its way to the turbine. I would use the above tips including a camera to see where exactly where it is. GL

If you were just idling there is a decent chance that even if the rag made it down the intake tube and up against the compressor wheel, that the turbo is still Ok.

Um...I saw it happen back in the 90's. Someone's (not mine) 5.0 Mustang with a built motor and an S-Trim Vortech on the dyno with the intake off sucked in a rag from a couple feet away and did something like $15K worth of blower/engine damage. But the engine was revving high and rag pieces were everywhere.
Hopefully this is not your case OP.

1. Car was in middle of garage and had the filters off to clean them. 2. Wife came out and screamed at me to move the car so she could fit her car in due to a hail storm on the way. s 3. Just wanted to put the car in neutral to roll out of the way and subconsciously had foot on brake; meant to just turn on Aux. 4. Rag was in intake tube to keep dust out, anybody who lives in Oklahoma City can testify; especially where I live (Surrey Hills Area). 5. Not trying to get symphony, I don't agree with that. But, anyhow I have Cancer and just got done with Chemo. I wasn't exactly all there and felt like complete shit. 6. Yes I know wife is a bitch. LOL |

So were you able to get it out with some mechanics figures or something similar? Talk about a cliff hanger!
