6th gear stutter/miss more often in RAIN, ideas?
Hi,
I've had a stutter/miss/rumble when flooring it in 6th gear at low RPMs for a while now, (sometimes noticeable in 5th/4th, I suppose it's when there is the most load) and BMW can never seem to replicate. It does tend to come and go, sometimes not noticeable for a few days, etc. We've been having really heavy rain out here in the northeast lately, and I realized it seems to happen much more during heavy rain than it does when it's dry out. It doesn't have anything to do with traction, I don't have a tune in it right now and the tires are great. It's absolutely the classic "stumble/stutter/misfire" feel. Since the likely culprits for the misfires are plugs, injectors, fuel pump, etc --- does the fact that *this happens much more often in the rain* suggest that one of those is more likely than the other? Thanks! |

you put a lot of load on the engine flooring it in 6th low rpm.
