2008 335xi sport package eibach springs
i'm looking in to getting eibach springs, my car has the sport package on it, not planning on changing the whole suspension at this time, have any of you tried using large c-clamp to compress the springs instead of using a spring compressor? thanks for any replies or suggestions..

Typically people use a spring compressor. Never heard of a C Clamp being used.

If you're looking for major injury, C-Clamp's your tool o'choice. If you're looking to safely and effectively compress your springs, an inexpensive spring compressor, pretty good quality @ any Sears, is industry standard. Tip: Keep the threaded rod lubricated - I used old 20/50 engine oil. If the expense of a spring compressor is giving you pause, you drive the wrong car. Really. Very wrong. . thanx for replying, it's not a matter of price , just figured like i have 20 some industrial c -clamps at work lying around, lol / i will go out and buy the actual spring compressor when i figure out what suspension setup to go with, like you said its not worth getting hurt.. thanx for the tip.

The xi cars, even the ones with the sport packages, have the non-sport suspension. If you put on lowering springs like the eibachs, you will also want to change the struts and shocks to handle the stiffer lower springs.
