Questions on Chargepipe, advise plz

Hey guys,

Just wondering, is getting a CP a must when my 335 will be FBO soon.

If I am going to get ER CP, i will have to buy a BOV / DV along with it, right? But whats the difference? And what if i dont like the WOOSHHH sound, i like it to b OEM-like, which one shall i go for?

If i wanna go cheaper, wt kind shall i go for since its jus a metal pipe.. well, at least, to me.

Thanks for any input,

B

ER has a stock DV option. If you have issues, you can always add Forge DV later, they are stock fitment.

If you aren't planning on getting blow off valve or diverter valves right away, is there any reason to get a charge pipe just by itself? What's wrong with the stock charge pipe?

Aftermarket pipe is less restrictive.
Better airflow=engine breathes better

Yes, to run meth! There are other avenues, but the CP would be best option.

well, my main concern is that once psi goes up, the stock cp cracks and leaks. But some say running fine, some say weak. So shall i just wait till it cracks? but some even say it causes serious engine damage or horrible stories. There are many different thoughts!

shall i just save some more $$ for now, altho its not expensive..?

I would spend my money elsewhere to be honest. Not really any gains from a CP as the factory unit is not restrictive at all.

A CP isn't a performance gaining mod like a tune, intake or DPs. 1st off, if you decide to run meth it becomes necessary to buy an aftermarket CP for the meth bungs. 2nd, if you're running high boost, the OEM CP + DVs become restrictive, can hinder performance, and if there is enough stress they can (and probably will) break/start leaking.

I am going FBO (no meth), but have decided to buy a ER charge pipe (the "long" pipe so the plastic elbow will get replaced) and have a set of Forge DVs (not a fan of the whooosh noise either). B/c my car is my Daily Driver, I wanted to make sure that I would not have to worry about my OEM CP or DVs breaking when I decide to rip on the car over the weekend. It's not a super expensive mod and if your car is an investment + not a "toy", it's smart to upgrade both those parts.
