I've spent a lot of time looking at insurance and just went through it last month with my fiance.

Nobody has been able to beat TD Melonche Monex. They have lots of corporate and university discounts so chances are you would qualify for one of them.

I'm under $100 month.

14 years? Damn dude you look young for your age LOL, the perks of being Asian I guess. Well in that case your insurance rates make more sense.

And yes you are definitely older than me haha.

Aren't you in med school? I'm sure there are tons of perks. When my cousin was in med school, I'm sure he got like 50%+ off on his auto insurance because of group....should check it out.

Desjardins owns The Personal and they likely won't give you a quote because you need to prove you belong to one of the many groups they insure.

If you're a young driver you can try wawanesa or TD Meloche if you are a
recent grad. They also ensure groups.

I'm currently with Aviva under their special pilot program (through mom who is 55 ) and I pay $2060/yr for my 08 335i vert.

I work in the industry so any questions I can usually answer. If you've bet been hurt, I specialize in accident benefits. But again, I've been around and done it all so I can answer most questions!

Best thing is to shop around and get a broker who has connections with all the big players who can give you a proper quote. There are other tips and tricks to saving some $$, but that's not for me to comment unless asked.

I'm paying $167/mo for downtown Toronto. I'm with TD Meloche. $1M liability, comprehensive coverage, $0 deductible (that's right - cause I know Toronto's full of hit and run drivers), full value replacement if totaled or stolen. I'm not married, I'm 27, and I also drive 60 km a day for work (well used to, I now only drive on weekends...haven't changed my plan yet - one ticket on file now because I made a left turn at 11 am because I thought the sign was no turn from 7 am to 10 am, not 10 pm...so the two may balance out).

As for getting my insurance down, I've also got property and it's insured with TD as well. I'm using my professional engineer's discount as well and that's giving me much better rates already.

If you don't drive a lot, you should tell them that and it'll cut down on the insurance rate. Also, if you've got more security features on the car from it being stolen, it'll help. So make sure you tell them you've got an alarm, immobilizer, VIN etching.

There are many factors that come into play

I'd need specific info. to tell you where and how you could save. Send me a pm if you are seriously interested.

You got it. I have condo with them and am well under $100mth. I'm also a 20yr quality driver. Other companies and my former broker were still quoting $200+ 4 years ago.

Pretty happy after paying through the nose or years so much for all those years. Still remember paying $3500yr for my Tercel way back when.

Just as an example...

I'm 26yr old male, Mississauga, use car for regular commute/pleasure, no accidents, no tickets, driving 8yrs insured now with a G license. Multi-car discount, home discount, low kilom discount, renewal/loyalty discount, conviction free discount.

I have 1 mil liability, 300 comp, 500 coll deductibles(full coverage) and pay $2060/yr for my 2008 E93 335i as a primary driver.

That works out to be $177/month, but I always pay one shot to avoid the 3% tack on they charge when you pay installments.

The easiest way to save money is increase your deductible, but IMHO the savings are negligible at $50-$100 and would be at your own risk. I would never personally recommend this, but for those of you who are cheap/risk takers go for it lol.

I'm going to save +/- $1000 with them. Gotta love this forum.
