Where to get Replacement OEM Flywheel?
I had my stock FW resurfaced, but they ruined the center bearing. The dealer wants $1100 and even Tischer wants $930 (late '09 build, 6 bolts).
Some have mentioned that it can be had for $700, but I don't have the posts any longer. I want to order soon, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help. |

Brand new, Tisher's gonna be the best price you can find -- ECS is another OEM retailer, they're pricing it @ $940.
**If the dealer jacked it up, shouldn't they own up to the mistake & replace it? |

I found a place, I think it was Carolina Clutch and Performance (google for it) that was selling them (LUK DMF) for $561 shipped to my door (your shipping price will vary). Not a bad deal.

Luk makes the OEM flywheel (turn yours over and it'll say luk on it).
The problem (for me) is that I have a 6-bolt flywheel, which AFAIK they don't sell directly. I'll have to by my second replacement in a year for $1k. Shit is getting expensive. |

I typically find better prices than Tischer at bmwpartssource.com, or circle bmw. Circle bmw only has accessories listed for sale on their website, not sure if they will sell regular parts, they might. They respond very quick to e-mails in y experience.

i have a 6 bolt lying in my garage I can sell you. PM me.
My transmission and clutch were replaced by bmw under warranty but wouldn't touch the flywheel. I forked out $1300 for a new flywheel since I wanted everything replaced. From a quick inspection I see no glaze marks on the flywheel. I have no other way to assess it though. |
