328i M-Sport ordered!! But Delivery date :(
Well I ordered my 328i M-Sport here in the UK today.
Spec as follows: M-Sport Manual Black Sapphire Metallic Coral Red Leather 19" M-Sport alloy wheels Professional Navigation Xenons & Headlight washers Heated front seats Internet Mobile application prep and all the usual standard M-Sport gubbins! I was originally going to go for the M-Sport brakes at £570, but decided against as although they look cool, I couldn't really justify spending the extra. Everything else I specced were the essentials and it's all too easy to get carried away. Interestingly on the subject of delivery times, this is where things get disappointing for me..... Had I ordered a 320d M-Sport, it was showing as delivery in the 2nd week of July. The 328i however, is showing as September delivery. The dealer confirmed that there seemed to be a shortage of 328 engines caused by excess demand in the US, so I blame you Americans for being so selfish! I was ever so tempted to go for the 320d as it would be the sensible option given the cost of petrol here in the UK (that and the fact it was £2k cheaper as well!), but ultimately the 328 was the car I wanted so i figured there's no point compromising. Oh well, the wait begins now........ |

However, the dealer showed me on the internal BMW ordering system, and those were the dates the configurator was showing? To be fair on my dealer, he has all along said that M-Sports would be delivered from July onwards which I've always been dubious about. Maybe it's different for our Euro cars compared with the US? |

After all, a lot of people on this site were saying that order books would only open July. However, its become clear that a lot of other markets have already opened their order books, as it is in the UK. My dealer seems pretty adamant that their M-Sport demo will be in around mid-July. |

I spoke to my dealer today and he said M Sport definitely starts production in July, there is a small chance some could arrive early August but anyone saying July deliveries is a hopeful salesman.
