Sonic Coilover Install

I am getting the Sonic Tuning Coilovers this week and was going to install them and also new tension struts.

Is there anything special I need to do, any type of torquing or anything. I have read on the forums but dont know what needs to be done

Also, whats a proper height setting from experience just to get rid of wheel gap. I have 19" Wheels. 8.5 +35 in front and 10 +38 in the back

235/35/19 and 236/30/19

Appreciate the help!

Just look for a spring and shock DIY on here, that's what I did and my KW install was a breeze

The main thing is to decide on which bolts to take out on the rear control arms. If you do the inners, the install is easier but you're playing with the camber. The outers were a bitch to get back in...but your camber stays the same.

And when you take the top nuts off in the rear, don't let them fall down...you'll never get them out.

Other than that, the rear is pretty straight forward.

Have two jacks, consider cutting holes in the rear trunk liner so you can adjust the dampening on the fly...can't think of anything else right now..

On the front, don't worry about getting the top nuts too tight when you have the assembly off the car. You'll only be able to get them so tight anyway at that point. You'll have to tighten them after you get everything back on. And even then, you might have to tighten them a couple times to get no noise.

I had horrible luck with my sonic tuning coils....hopefully it'll go better for you...

As far as ride height....don't really know what to tell you there...the lower the better as far as I'm concerned lookswise. But perfectly flush and you might be scraping...

There are a couple DIY's on here but they're for an E90....but the E92 is the same with this job...

Also why did you have such horrible luck with your sonic tuning coils?

The ride was just horrible to me....WAY too teeth grinding even on the softest setting. AS a matter of fact, I couldn't hardly tell a difference from the tightest-softest setting. And I had noises coming from the front even after two installs. I know everything was tight as hell too.

But I'm not saying this to disuade anyone from these nor am I trying to damn them. That was just my experience. I've read plenty of great reviews. And I sold mine to another guy who hasn't said anything negative either.

I'm pretty picky about my ride but that was crazy rough. Even my yellows on the hardest setting aren't nearly as teeth grinding as those. But yet handle almost as well.

I will say that my car handled like it was on rails with those. As long as I was on a smooth stretch, it was badass. It felt so planted. I don't know....maybe it was the install....but I don't think so....

For the front setup you have to adjust the endlinks and the springs while the car is LOADED. Otherwise you will get a pretty rough ride and some noise when you turn side to side or going on to a bump.

When you set the coils to the lowest setting it's a softer ride than OE sports (with the same allowance of height travel)

Sometimes the sleeves are hard to open, we recommend going from an angle.

if you do have any trouble or questions regarding adjustment just let us know.

Maybe that was the problem Jose. I didn't do the install so that's a problem right there.

Wish I saw this earlier, PM if you have any questions on the install. I'll be happy to explain anything.
