got COBB?

Jus got my e93 for about a week. And decided to go with the COBB accessport as my first mod so i bought it for $794 on eBay with free overnite shipping. Installed and now a very happy camper. Next on the agenda is a FMIC so i can go to stage 1+

Its great. The install was very simple, took around 25mins. Felt like i have so much more power especially the torque, and eventho i have a boring automatic i can hold my revs about 1000 to 1200rpm higher before i have to upshift on my paddle shifter.

Hey, i'm about to order the Cobb AP. Why did it take 25min? Judging from the vid, it's just basically 3-4 steps..should be done in 10 min at most.

It has to dowload the factory ROM and save that before flashing the Cobb mapping. It's takes some time to do that, but honestly its as simple as plug in and click flash.

Great choice on your tune OP

a tune is a MUST have upgrade for every 135/335 owner... I remembered my 1st drive w/ the COBB and it completely transformed the car. Thing is now I'm addicted to getting more power and instead of just spending ~$900 on the COBB AP + intake, I'm spending ~$2k on going FBO w/ supporting mods. Cannot wait to run Stage 2+

Stage 2+ is worth it. The only downside is that after you get used to that you'll then be going the meth route... then upgraded turbos... It NEVER ends...

Sorry to be the negative nancy here, but the redline / rev limiter / automatic transmission programming is exactly the same. You can hold your revs just as much as a stock 335i.

I can live w/o meth, I like knowing that I'll always have the power under my right foot and don't need to worry about a "meth tank" emptying on me when I need it. I know COBB doesn't have upgraded turbo maps (sure it's something they've considered giving attention to after the N54 v40x Maps and maps for the N55), so luckily I'll have some time add some exterior parts (thinking CSL trunk & Advan RS wheels) and save for the RB's

Cobb does have upgraded turbo maps, not yet released however. They are working with RBs and HFS-4 kit right now. Some guys on the other site are/were running the new test maps.

I wouldn't want an OTS map fow running upgraded turbos. A custom dyno tune is the only proper way to run a setup like that IMHO.

Right now yea (since like I mentioned there are no Upgraded Turbo maps).... If I ever do get RB's and there aren't any maps for them, I'd just have to find somewhere that has the AP PRO

BUT I guess this ^^^ answers that. Assuming there's no projected time frame on when we'd be seeing this.

Tell me about it...

A year ago I added a tune. Then upgraded my brakes, brake lines, and fluid. Then went FBO. Then went Stage 2+. Then upgraded suspension. All the while attending DE's and tracking the car (the all important "driver mod"). Now looking at reducing more weight and upgrading turbo's before next track event.

Sh!t doesn't end, does it?
