Why you bought your Car

Curious as to why peeps bought the car they did and more specifically what you do with your car.

When I went to wakefield I was amazed at the wide range of cars there, from highly, highly worked Lotus's, GTR's, Porsche's and a Lambo to a stock SV6 Commodore!

When I bought the 335 it was a rush purchase as the wife took my old car and I had about a week to get something. So I can't really say I bought it because of the potential mod factor, which only really started 6-9 months ago, but since then I've honestly had a lot of fun with the car on the road and the track. Plus the tinker factor, while I'd leave the heavy lifting to the Pro's (Thanks Pete) there is a bunch of stuff on the 335 that I can do.

When i finally got it, it was prob the happiest day of my life. Looking back now, it was worth every sacrifice.

I spent a day going from dealership to dealership and it was the best combination of looks and performance I saw, signed up and drove it home 3 days later.

I get lucky sometimes, If I went back and had a lot of time I can't honestly say I'd come to the same conclusion but I am still very happy with the car. It gets more involving and rewarding every day.

Wanted to get E46 M3 as it is my childhood dream car but then drove the 135i and loved the torque and opted for the 135i instead.

Also a lot more sensible as it is a newer car etc etc.

I traded up from a modified JZA80 Supra to my E90 335i M Sports because I wanted something more modern with 4 doors, all the modern comforts, and some performance to match.

I must admit im very happy with the decision and surprised at the performance of the 335 in its standard guise. Also it feels good to not get pulled over by every patrol car I pass in the 335 unlike the supra.

Garage List
2009 BMW 320d  [0.00]
Something happened to you Rossi? You seemed to have changed alot, nice and geniune lol felt like a totally different person.

I bought my diesel 320d because as a real estate agent i drive shit loads of ks.
My budget was around 40-50k and only really want German cars so i compared the A4 tdi, C220d.

C220d was alot dearer and slower. 320d was the best choice due to fastest 0-100 and best l/100km also imo best looking. My decision was extremelly impulse because I took plane to Brisbane without even test drive the car before and hand over the cheque and drive it back to Sydney.

I am super glad i made the right choice and blessed to meet so many awesome friends here.

Went with my missues and her mate to a dealer as he was after an AUDI. They had a stage 1 black E90 335i there. First time I ever saw one or knew what a 335 was. Asked a lot of questions and thought the car was amazing. First twin turbo 3.0 bimmer i had ever heard about.

So fast track 1.5 years I was looking to get a car, I was going to get an 335 or Golf R but 60K was my limit wouldn't go over, most 335s where outside of that. one night on carsales i found my e92.. very happy i went with the 335 over the R but I was also very keen on 135i but my partner preferred the 3. I still have the occasional day dream time to time about the 135i ... I love smaller powerful cars!

Overall very happy with my 335 glad I got it. still gives me many a smile when i dive it.

I went for a ride in Jeef Beef's car and thought holy fck I gotta get one of these.

maybe 6 months later I went for a ride in Edwin's car and thought sh1t I'm definitely getting one of these and within 4 weeks I had a 135i lol.

A bit over it now though, you get used to power and it's only half (if that) of the story.

Nope, keep changing my mind, had a deposit on two cars, both fell through, both were vastly different, now looking at something completely different again.
