best cell service in south florida?
moving to west palm beach in two weeks. need to get an idea which carrier has the best service in the west plam,ft lauderdale,miami area.

I got Verizon... might consider ATT in the future but I hate their phone selection everytime I look into it.

hows verizon's service? so far its seems to be between them and att/cingular.

I'll 2nd T-mobile but I'm bias since my employer pays for my phones. Can't argue with FREE. lol
PS. I've heard that Cingular has a lot of hidden bs fees, but maybe that's gotten better since the merge???

I haven't heard of any hidden Cingular fees. My friend has them and he really likes it... roll over minutes! He also says the phones aren't as dumbed down as Verizon's if you're into hacking it or such (dunno he claimed with VZ the RAZR's volume couldn't go as high as the ones from Cingular
 ).Anyway, VZ has been good in terms of coverage but if you plan to browse the web a lot you'll probably find other services to have a better overall package for that. Also gotta pay $10 for unlimited text/pic plan... used to be for just IN-service (ie. IN the VZ network) although lately I've heard ads on the radio claiming $10 for anyone even on other networks. The only other reason I haven't seriously considered switching yet (other than phone selection) is because of the service agreement... canceling that is $175 and this is shared w/my family so I can't just switch us all over to Cingular cos I believe it's $175/per line/service canceled.

I've been commuting from Miami Beach to Ft Lauderdale for 4 years now. I've always had Verizon with an old LG phone and never been dropped or even heard static not even during hurricanes. In the last 3 months I've moved to Cingular/ATT trying to save money with the rollover plan and I bought a Crackberry Perl. Now From my drive on I-95 I will be lucky not to have my call dropped and the static is terrible in some spots.
I'm not thrilled with the phones Verizon offers but if I had the choice I would go back in a heartbeat! I don't have personal experience with Sprint and Metro Piece of Shit but my friends who have this service told me they were a joke. Mainly if you want to travel around the states. Welcome to South FL! |

thats wiers att/cingular has been awesome, and have had nothing but great service, i have had them for like 7 years ,but have not been incontract with them since 2 years, after hurricanes i have full reception no static, no dropped calls. service has just been great.
