COBB and Turbo Lag...Anyone?
I just installed the COBB and man-oh-man it sure does take a full second to get moving. I had a Procede and to be honest, the Turbo Tuner had better throttle response.
I tried several maps, but all seem to have a very delayed takeoff. I don't have the time to read the current 224 pages of COBB discussion... any quick opinions? I actually like the COBB when driving...the car is pretty fast...i just don't understand what's up with the lack of immediate acceleration off the line. I tried both aggressive maps and they seem the same to me. Lastly, I don't suppose I can run my SS/Turbo Tuner on top of the COBB flash? I am kind of starting to miss the Procede V3. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Try the V401 Aggressive Stock throttle map. I wouldn't recommend running a JB+ or SSTT on top. There's no real way to easily log it. On the V400 Aggressive ST map I have no problem making boost damn near instantly(assuming the revs are at a reasonable point.)
How do your logs look? |

What map & throttle mapping are you using?? If you have access to 93 oct, I'd say go all out and use the Stage 1 Aggressive map (I use stock throttle on my AT). The car kicks so much harder.... If you only have 91, stick to the Sport maps unless you can toss some octane booster in

I notice it is a bit laggy for me. 93oct, 4.01 2+, both ST and LT.
I have an email into Cobb about a 30FE code and a strange oscillation as well; it could just be my DME. |

It will feel laggier because it is running a higher boost target (higher RPM for turbos to hit) and the ignition timing is lower than stock. (Less pressure/heat to spool them quickly)

I do use 93 octane... running both ST and LT Aggressive maps feel about the same to me. I installed the V401 Aggressive ST and LT Beta Maps and had a misfire in cylinder 2... went back to V301 maps and no misfire... but plenty of turbo lag (literally like a full second before it kicks in). Went back to stock and sure enough...no turbo lag (relative).

Do your wastegates rattle, on the stock map? Having a similar issue, and the dealer thinks it may be that my wastegates need adjusting. Should know the diagnosis tomorrow.
If you have boltons, you may also want to check for boost leaks. Can you post a log of your boost?

Interesting... I am at 60k now. My wastegates do not rattle at all...dealer fixed that just before my warranty expired at 48k. I am due for a 60k service, should I ask my dealer to clean the valves?
