Great photos Kokopuff!
It really shows the differences between the various generations of 3 series, particularly as they are all one colour. I may be wrong, but I thought I read in one review that the F30 was very slightly narrower than the E90, but if you look at the second photo, the F30 looks much wider than its older brother. I think some of it is due to the distortion induced by the lens taking the photo. It looks like a wide angle shot. Hmmmm

Excellent comparison/pictures.
In the pics the E90 imo looks a bit like a lovely teddybear and the F30 more like a tiger. The E92 is somewhere in between, like a cuddly tiger. E46 M3 is still a stunner. |

The F30 looks so much larger in the photos. It reminds me of the 5 series even more when parked next to the other cars. Thanks for the comparison photos.
=========== Yeah no kidding, still a striking car visually but you can def see the progression through the ages and the marketing strategy of enlarging the established series and creating the 1 Series to make the lineup small, medium, large, and extra large.

Nice pictures! Would be nice to see the F30 with the blacked out grille (no chrome).

Wow. F30 is such a huge leap in terms of aggressiveness and seems like BMW has totally changed their design philosophy while still maintaining the distinctive BMW look.
I am particularly a fan of these new changes with F series vehicles: 1) Head lights and the corona rings. 1, 3, 5 and 6 series has these beautifully integrated in the headlight and very ICONIC. Love the flat rings on the 6 series. 2) Kidney grills are elongated for a sporty look on the 3er. 3) The kidney grill slats across the entire line up. Love it. 4) Tail lamp design and the integrated LED tube design. Again, very iconic. I don't know of any vehicle that does these tube style tail lights (same goes for corona rings). You can really pick out a BMW from distance. 5) The interior has taken a huge leap in terms of design flow. Everything is cohesive. All the lines meet and converge in a beautiful way...as if carved out of wind. Beautiful and pleasing to the eye. Proportions are perfect. I am sure there are many things that I might have missed...but the way BMW is going forward with their design team, it is astonishing and promising. |
