Progman 25.02 – Causing Sat Nav to Intermittently Freeze & Rebooting of iDrive

Hi All from the UK

Just had Progman 25.02 installed last Friday and thought that this software version was OK…

Driving home the other night the Sat Nav froze twice on me.

The first time when I was adjusting the map view scale it froze and then came back to life in about 30 seconds. The second time it froze was when I answered a phone call. The second time it did not come back to life, but instead, the screen when black and then proceeded to reboot, displaying the BMW flash screen on start-up.

Anyone else experienced this with Progman 25.02?

Yup. Had 25.02 put in last week.

Tuesday, wife reported IDrive froze and would not 'unfreeze' until almost the end of her 15 minute commute.

Reluctant to take it in until a new Progman release. Hasn't happened since.

Since 25.xx.xx is in such wide use I would not blame your particular symptoms on the software version. Rather, I suspect a bad upload (possibly a fault during the install not detected by technicians) or a faulty component such as a CCC or the CID itself. If you get fairly repeatable symptoms I would take it in for service follow up and not wait for some new release.

The only bug I've had so far with 25.02.00 is that my car will be switched to AM or FM sometimes when I start it, even though I turned it off with the CD running. This has happened about 5 or 6 times now, and I've had 25.02.00 for a few weeks. Never happened prior to the update.

One plus that I haven't mentioned previously is that my MP3s now list correctly on a CD with MP3s. Previously, they would show a weird filename list, even with "show information" turned on -- only the current track would show title and artist, and I could not tell what the rest of the songs were unless I played them (!). Now mine works like everyone else's screenshots.

It’s been behaving itself for the last few dates, so hopefully the freezing was a one-off glitch. Fingers crossed…
