Well you would save the price of a new flywheel however you won't save on install whether you resurface or buy a new one.

Now with taht said, if the shop has done the clutch job on a 335i before, you might get the install for cheaper. 500$ should be what they charge if they've done it before.

Pilot and throwout bearing and aluminum bolts for the bell housing. ARdesign sells the clutch along with all the OEM parts. I bought everything from them (except the flywheel)

I just got this done last month. Here's the breakdown:

1. ACT 6 puck - $440 (I ended up buying an OEM one. So this one is for sale for dirt cheap.
2. OEM clutch kit (throwout bearing and bolts were included) - $375
3. OEM flywheel - $740
4. Labor - free (installed it myself)

So basically all I would need is the ACT 6 puck since that's what I'm purchasing , the throw out bearing and bolts and either a new flywheel or resurfaced? Also how difficult is an install if I have jacks + jack stands and with the help of some mechanically inclined people?

The 6 puck is not what you want to use for a daily driver. It is a more aggressive clutch (designed for drag racing). Basically, if you want to buy mine, you can either 1) deal with the rough disegagement or 2) use the pressure plate and get a new disk from ACT.

Throwout bearings and the bolts aren't expensive. It wasn't hard for me at all, especially the second time I had to do it I did it out of my garage on jackstands

Hm I won't mind the rough hard disengagement that much, and how many hours did it take you and what's the difficulty out of a 1/10? And what can you compare it to

Honestly, the hardest part at first was taking the two bolts behind the motor, under the hood. I didn't use the proper ratchet.

The second time I did it, I bought the right ratchet. The whole process only took me about 6 hours (uninstall/install).

I am not sure what to compare it to....Watch the video that HPF posted on youtube. It's really easy.

clutches are a PIA take it from me, get it done from a shop, if you dont align it right or dont have the flywheel surfaced 100 percent, youre going to get bad vibrations.

Nothing special. Just a flexible ratchet such as this one http://www.shopping.com/craftsman-cr...p-ratchet/info. Just make sure that you find one with the head as small as possible.

Not everything...

Not to be an a$$, but it sounds like you may need to pay someone or do it with someone who knows what he's doing. Keep in mind, this is not an easy job for someone that's not mechanically inclined. Also, this is a two people job (when installing and uninstalling the transmission)
