I think considering the tread your coming in a fair bit too expensive, but I'm definitely interested in some part worn tyres for my ring trip and these would be good.
Any movement? Matt |

They only come with 4.8 IIRC to start with, so only about 30ish% worn on the rears about 25ish% on fronts. Checking previous sale prices for these and current ebay listings i thought the prices were reasonable, but point taken.
Defiantly open to offers. Send me a PM |

I hadn't thought about the starting tread mate - id seen them as kind of about 55-65% worn do you can imagine my reason for asking!!
I'm interested though and they'll be for track use only really anyway! Will PM you at some point this weekend mate. At my missus' grans so can't really think/plan/research etc at the moment. Matt |

Defiantly, most people assume they come with similar tread to road tyres.
No problem PM when your ready. What dates are you going to the 'ring? Im going to be out there from 15th-18th of June. |

Kind of related question but bear with me - if you buy these specifically for a ring-trip how do you get them there?? Do you drive all the way there with them on or shove them in the back (with back seats folded down) - aren't they lethal in the wet (imagining the UK section of the journey) or aren't they too bad?? Quick answer to settle my curiosity then get back to the flogging

2 Options really;
Check the forecast before i leave and if it looks 'OK' Chance driving there and back on them. OR Take a second set of wheels with me and swap them over as needed. They are not too bad in the damp but yet in the wet i can imagine they are lethal especially if you have no heat in them. |

Put them on different wheels light weight rims if your doing track days. Change them over and back when u get there and leave. You don't want to be running around a track using wheels and tires ur gunna b using for dd

Finally got some pics and accurate measurements.
I've tried to measure at the lowest point on each section of the tyre, using a cheap analogue gauge from ebay so please take as approx guide. Also these are Pilot Cup+ which, as far as i can see on the internet, are the same as Cups but are BMW and Porsche approved 245/35/19 1. 4.0mm 3.9mm 4.0mm 2. 3.9mm 3.9mm 4.5mm 265/35/19 3. 3.1mm 3mm 3.8mm 4. 3.0mm 3.0mm 3.4mm Some pics Last edited by DarkAnt335i; 04-13-2012 at 06:07 AM.. |
