Delay coming off throttle

Hey all. I have a 335 6MT. The other day, I was accelerating WOT in 3rd and lifted suddenly to go for the brakes without putting the clutch in. During the moment as I moved my foot to the brakes, the car definitely stayed on the throttle. Anyone else ever get this? I don't know if it was the fly-by-wire, or if the pedal didn't lift, but the latter seems pretty unlikely.

That used to happen to me in my S4 failry regularly, but dealer never figured it out.
Hasn't happened in my 335, but fly by wire sounds like a likely culprit.

I did notice this once in hard cornering. I figured that the stability/traction control system was "smoothing" the throttle release in order to avoid a sudden change in the contact patch forces on the rear wheels that could be destabilizing. But there should be no reason for doing this in a straight line.

There probably is a software filter in the drive-by-wire algorithm, and it's probably there in an attempt to make the car "smoother" for less talented drivers...

I also get this too sometimes. Especially when I'm accelerating hard and releasing the accelerator quickly. I think its most likely just the computer smoothing out the car to prevent it from jerking or hiccuping. Because one time I released the accelerator very quickly and the car didn't stay on throttle and I felt a small jolt and hiccup on the car. I'm not really sure whats causing this too. But my guess from what I experienced is that the car's just doing its thing to smooth out the ride?

Yep, when I went for a test drive, I noticed it in the 6sp.

I ordered the Steptronic, that is one of the few reasons why.

Thanks guys, at least I'm not the only one. I guess I'll have to live and learn, and maybe left foot brake when I do that.
