Question Tyre Choice

Need some advice on tyre choice please.
Need to replace OEM RE50A 255/30/19 RFT rears (now) & have decided to go 265/30/19 & 235/35/19 front when they need replacing.

Question is;
ContiSport 5P
or
Yokohama Advan Sport V103
or
Michelin Pilot Super Sport
or
Something else

I do frequent trips from Sydney to Canberra so am looking for a quiet tyre.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I recently replaced the OEM Bridgestone 255/30/19 RFT with Yokohama Advan Sport 255/30/19. They are a nice quiet tyres and seem to be wearing well, although I have only just rotated them after 5000kms. My tyre guy told me that I shouldn't drive with a flat on the front with the Run flats as he has seen some big damage to the front guards. Run flats on the rears is okay. I personally went for non RFT because of the cost > $800 each. Even at mates rates, the Yokis still cost me $540 each. My mate told me that I would have to be extremely unlucky to get a puncture with such low profile tyres. Hope this helps.

PSS get my money every time.

Do yourself a fab and punch them into tire rack and do a comparo and pick your preference. At the end of the day they are all good tyres

I recommend Advan Neova and PSS.

PSS are quieter, Neova's are grippier

Some simple Kumho KU31s will be fine. They're pretty good - for the price.

Really? I had KU31's on my old liberty (fitted by the dealership as a demo) and they where horrid. Would you put them on your C63?

Lol, but your recommending that THE335, who has a 335i single spinner gets KU31's.

Cruel Bastard! Not everyone wants to sit there spinning the wheels all the time (unlike C63 owners )

I got 235/275 19's and all up landed was circa 1700. about half the 'special' from the local tyre shop. seriously though go to tirerack and punch in your preferred dimensions and all those you mentioned will come up and you can tick the box and compare side by side.

this place still cracks me up, you gotta check out the home/cabin tab

btw this was the only place i found that would deliver direct to australia (the australian dealer wanted double from memory). if there are a few peeps that want one, you could save on combine shipping.

I'd be keen to get 1 if we're doing a group order. I'm in Sydney.

Got a set of Continental 5P (235/265) locally for under $1800 if I remember correctly. Very happy with them so far.

they are much quieter than the Ku31s I had on the car. Though I think I had a dodgy set of Ku31, as my friend's and my previous set of Ku31 are not noisy at all.

I'm a fan of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric. I got the first generation ones that are no longer available. The latest is Assymetric 2. To me they are just as good as Michelin PSS. I like the Goodyears for handling, but maybe that's because its on a 3 series, and the PSS is on a 1 series - which can't be a useful comparsion. I am not sure about wear, but I think the Goodyear has deeper tread than the Michelin PSS. Goodyears seem to be wider in the same size fitment from my observation.
