I don't think it's time to lift our skirts up and run around in panic. The lap times aren't compared on the same day, weather conditions, temp, humidity all have impact on the the lap time. I want to see lap times with the same tire and driving conditions before getting disappointed.

Forget tire and conditions, drivers are the key variable here. You or I in an M3 would get smoked by Lewis Hamilton in a 320d.

well I dont know anything about lap times but looking at the table that's a pretty darn good time for the new M3 considering it's 10 seconds quicker than the E46 and the same as the 993 Porsche Turbo.

Did I miss something?...8:12 is pretty damn fast.

In fact, I doubt most of us on this forum could get anywhere near that time. In that car. On any day.

I think they're referring to the fact that it is slower than the RS4's time, not that it is necessarily a slow time.

I'm sure its still fun as hell to drive and that's all I care about.

Wait a sec, I'm pretty sure the only rs4 with a faster time had the optional 8k ceramic rotors, 99% of rs4 drivers don't have that anyway and the cost puts it in another league.

Even though it's old it's still got a good lap time. Being old doesnt make it incomparable. Take the E36 M3 for example, it's old as heck but people are still looking to buy them and still compare them to the new E46 and a bunch of other BMWs.

I guess you could compare it to the MB SL55 AMG but to be quite frank, I couldnt care less about Mercedes and their AMGs.

Any videos of these runs? That would be kind of cool.

On that list, an 8:12 is not very shabby. Definately ahead of some really nice and fast cars. The 335 looks like it did pretty well too.

You wear a skirt?!?!??! LOL

Time's look pretty good. One thing everyone has to keep in mind, there's nothing "official." This means, be patient and time will tell.

That is the ONLY thing that is absolute guaranteed So I guess no matter what it does or does not do, until I spend a lot of time at a race school I'll never get to find out what it really is capable of
