Xenons you can retrofit; power seats I dont know about.
As for trading it, you will lose the tax and a few thousands in addition to that. Then you'd lose the tax and another few thousands on the new car once you drove it off the lot. So in essence about $10-12k (+). |

If you were to trade it in right now they'd probably give you $29k (if that). Then when you get your new car you will lose the tax on that one too. Once the car leaves the lot it's considered a used car so obviously the price will be lowered. U know wat? Just look up trade-in values on KBB. |

+1, it's pretty unwise to do what you plan to do now

I had the same thought as you, wanted to trade 335 for 335 with more options. After doing some calculations, I'm gonna lose ~$10k. So it'll probably be better to just upgrade to m3 later. Well, I've decided to keep my car and drive it for a little longer. I suggest you do the same unless you want to pay $10k for driving a car for a couple of months.

I wouldnt do it for the heated seats, its a nice feature, but its not worth thousands of dollars. Same for the power seats. Xenons can be added for like 1600.

just get euro xenons and then you will be the envy of many of us. hold off on the power seats, its not worth it for the cost. plus u shouldnt really be needing to move ur seats a whole lot anyway once youve found the right position

Some states give a tax break. If he was in NC and traded in his car and got $29K and then bought another for $35K before tax, then he would only pay for $6K in taxes at a rate of 3%.
But you will take a big hit on the depreciation. |

I know the 335 takes an 8,500 hit as it's driven off the lot, so I'd guess the 328 is less, maybe 6k at the best. It's not worth it, either mod it, or live with it. We all have better ways to spend our money, right? Options are overrated, I even deleted leatherette and asked for 3 mil plastic, that saved me another $400 while going with the Logic 4 stereo saved $200.

Don't do it. You are going to lose a butt load of money for some measly options. Just think how much faster your car is without the added weight of power seats (that's what I always tell myself).

you will lose 3000 dollars in taxes alone!!!
now,the depreciation is going to be at least another 3000 dollars even if you don't have that many miles on it. it is considered to be a second hand car. if someone is willing to pay 32000 dollars for a brand new car, why on earth would they buy a used once (even with low miles on it) for 30000 dollars. |

you would be loosing ALOT just to add 2 small options, if you wanted a loaded 3, you know, navi, active cruise, PDC, Premium, Cold, sport (stuff like that) . There are alot of things worth trading in your car for, but power seats, and different lights is a stupid reason to trade in your car to add 2 basic options...my .02... You would be trading from a base model 3, to a slightly less base model 3.
