Thumbs up Ann Arbor BMW

I would like to strongly recommend Ann Arbor BMW to anyone in the Detroit area.

They could not have been more professional and helpful. Ask for Mark Louria the new car sales manager.

He ordered my e90. Then changed the order at my request. Then changed it again (I couldn't make up my mind about the color) and finally he dealer traded for the exact car I wanted that was already in the system. He also went above and beyond to get me an aggressive price on my trade-in (2005 Corvette). In addition, they are willing to negotiate on the price of the e90.

I have had bad experiences at Erhard and would not go back. I bought both of my previous BMWs at Bavarian Motor Villlage in Eastpointe. All of my future business will be given to Ann Arbor BMW.

My 330i is in South Carolina, and with some luck, I should have it this weekend.

Thanks for the tip, sierramadre! I'll have to check out Ann Arbor. It's just that Shelby Township and is so much closer to where I live, makes it so tempting. Too bad my closest dealership is Erhard.

Read my message about Erhard.

I might have to try the Ann Arbor dealership just to see what it's like - but I know I'll still have to get service at Shelby. Anyone know about the Holly MI dealer?

I thought I was the only one!

I went from a 2004 Corvette Z06 to the 330i. I broke my leg and needed a more comfortable car to drive. I looked at the CTS-V but it only comes in a 6-speed (manual) and the dealer here (Murphy Cadillac) didn't even know what kind of engine the car had ("I think it has some kind of V8.") So that's when I went to look at BMW (never looked at one before) and bought the new 330i that day.

This dealership is alright but I wouldn't say they have the best pricing. They will do courtesy delivery for free if anybody ordered their car from out-of-state dealership but for ED cars, they don't have a good pricing. 10% off MSRP for retail sales only. Not bad but not the best either. I agree they are very professional. I like the fact that they just let you test drive without following you.

I had a good experience here too which was a relief after trying to deal with Erhard BMW. Very professional, sales manager was friendly and they gave me a deal which made everyone happy ($1200 over invoice).

Erhard wouldn't move from msrp even after i told them I had a much better deal elsewhere.

Great Experience at Ann Arbor BMW

All,

Thus far I've had a great experience with Ann Arbor BMW. Fair and responsive negotiations (vs. waiting several days for response from Erhard). Let us take the car out on our own. Even though the CA's first performance center delivery he's been very conscientious about getting all the paper work right, ... even paid for my new plates when transfer wouldn't go through properly . Also, matched discounts on parts/accessories available at other dealerships with extra effort on his part.

Under new management and are re-modeling the sales center including adding Saturday service and parts hours. Haven't had service experience yet, but very pleased with the sales experience .

Wow... I'm suprised to read these comments. I'm had the exact opposite results.
I'm comparing dealers right now (ordering my e90 by Saturday), and so far the best have been Erhard - Bloomfield Hills and Grand Blanc BMW. Ann Arbor was a joke, the sales guy started bitching over the phone that I was asking for a car below MSRP.

I know this is old thread, but to purchase a BMW, this dealer is great, but to service it that's a whole different story.

As of today I would not recommend this dealership to my enemies, let alone any friends...

Pease read the following email I got in response to asking the Service Director why I did not get a call or email confirmation for the appt I was supposed to have today, which was set up via email about 2 weeks or so ago.

Mr. (name omitted),

You are correct, we are swamped. I won’t be able to get you in this month if you must have a loaner vehicle. After the last survey you completed, I didn’t think we’d be seeing you again. You are more than welcome to try any other BMW dealership to see if they can get you in any sooner. Unfortunately, we are very short on loaner cars. If you can make it with a shuttle ride we could get you in sooner, but I need to make things perfectly clear. Nobody here wants to wait on you, you take entirely too much time and effort to attempt to satisfy, then you kill them on the survey. I as the service director will not be able to hold your hand the entire time you vehicle is in the shop. That’s what my predecessor did because of you’re too “difficult, time consuming“ for any service advisor to “handle”. If you would like to visit (name omitted) at Erhart BMW of Bloomfield, I’m sure she can get you in sooner than we can. Your new appointment with a loaner car is June 3 rd with (name omitted). If you want to keep this appointment, no action on you part is necessary. If not, just reply to this email and I’ll cancel it.

Sincerely,

I did not want to post names in this email but what would you do if you were in my situation?

Thanks,
MrD

As much as I hate A2 BMW it sounds like you did something to really upset or piss off its employees. Don't give them any more chances and go elsewhere.

BMW of Ann Arbor has way to big of a head. I could go into the issues I have has with them but its a few long stories. I am in the service industry also and anyone that comes to my store I will strongly suggest avoiding BMW Ann Arbor to any of my customers with BMW's.
