News re MikeMan's totaled e90 and broken femur/hip
I was just informed by Mike that he totaled his E90. Apparently he doesn't remember much, but enough to know there was a car who cut him off and was the cause of the accident. The car took off but there was a witness who saw the accident. He just remembers waking up in the hospital. The car is gone, and he is unable to walk for roughly 6 weeks due to a broken femur and hip. The car is replaceable, but the life of a human being is not.
Get better soon, Mike! |

We think that the Bimmer possibly saved his life. He ended up crashing into a wall at 40-50 MPH and all bags deployed. This happened on the first Sunday of the month and he just got out of the hospital this morning. |

Thankfully, it appears that the man was not actually slaughtered.

No doubt the bimmer saved him. I've had the bad experience of being in an accident in a 745. I got T-boned by a car traveling over 60 mph at time of impact. It hit at the left rear tire and spun the car around about 450 degrees in the air......it spun fast enough for the front of the 7 to catch the side of the other car. I was completely unhurt besides a small abrasion below my left eye where the head protection bag got me. I can only wonder what it would have felt like when my head went through the side glass without the HPS system.
I've seen some completely destroyed bimmers from accidents that the driver and occupants simply walked away.

wow. Best wishes to Mike. Hope all is well. Cars are indeed replaceable, but not life.

I dont' know the guy, but I hope he gets better soon.
My brother got in an accident with a driver who hit and run, but he was a little fortunate. The license plate of the other car broke off during the accident, so it wasn't that hard to find the guy. Get better Mike!

+1 Hate to hear of the accident--glad he will be able to recover, and that the car helped preserve his life.

oh and +1 on changing the thread title, it really sounds like he's 6 ft under. The title sounds very morbid

Yeah, maybe change to MikeMan Survives Horrible Crash in his E90, because it's "good news" he survived.
MikeMan, if/when you ever see this, best wishes. We're glad you're alive. |

It's not "Sad News"..come on...the guy lived...I'd call it "Great News"!!!
I don't know you Mike, but feel better and get well soon. And when you get back on the forum, we can start talking about the E92 that this guy's insurance company is going to buy you!!! |

Guys, I'd edit the thread title if I have that option. You can edit the post itself, but not the title.
Again sorry for the misleading title, I didn't really think about it as I made this thread the moment Mike informed me about it. And he's already seen this thread. He's at home now recuperating. |
