GruppeM Cold Air Intake

Figured I'll share in this sub forum as it came up in a different thread which we hijacked on this topic . Pricey, but looks HAWT, and it is a closed system which is a plus.

I can. How about spending 5K exhaust (for a 1M) ?

I think this cf intake looks crazy hot. I would love one on my car. Hint, hint.

This is stupidly priced. You could buy 2 overpriced Dinan intakes for this or about 25 BMS DCI's

+2, wasn't recommending it, just posting what I saw.

GruppeM is notoriously known for being expensive. I am sure the quality is great, materials and execution, but still a lot to pay for something that is really more show than go.

An extra $2,500 in the pocket comes in handy with $5.00 a gallon gasoline........that's crazy expensive for an intake with little if any power gains. IMHO

I'm not a raw CF person so I'd have it painted, black.

So if there are little to no kw gains what's the point?

it is expansive, but the quality is superb.. no doubt..
close box intakes been known to have a constant intake temperature..
there was a thread somewhere here testing both cone filters and close box. although cone filters been doing more power, but after 2-3 runs power drops to be same as the closed box, and later on it goes lower than closed box.
that was a dyno test i think between AFE and BMS or so, with hood closed.
so i'm sure the GruppeM would make a bit more than the AFE, constant power all day long, specially in Bahrain where summer reaches 45-50c on day time, and 40s at night..

Spend the money on a good FMIC and a DCI setup and call it a day for half the price and probably twice the gain.

The OP did not post these CF pics to get anyone's advice nor approval. IF you don't have anything nice to say... then don't comment!

I think the OP knows what will and will not make any HP gains (FMIC, DCI, DP's, ect). He wanted a nice CF closed intake and he has one. Period.

Personally I like his setup. It reminds me of Alpina's closed system and is about the same price(if Alpina would sell you one without owning an Alpina car!) but in abs plastic not cf.
