BMW Recall E90

Had a letter from my dealer this morning says:

The fuel-filler neck breather pipe, in the fuel tank system, may charfe on the sharp edge of the body cut out in unfavourable cases.
It may then be pssible to smell fuel after re-fuelling the vehicle.
To ensure your vehicle is in perfect condition we would like to to retrofit the corrugated tubing to the fuel-filler cap.

please contact your service department for this work to be carried out.

Thought you may like to know.

Damn, let's see if anything happens here regarding the recall.

Haven't noticed any fuel smell after refueling though.

I was just alerted to a recall today when I went for an alignment. Its something about faulty ignition wires and the possibility of failure.

I usually do smell gas when I fill up; but I'd just figured I was tracking some in on my shoes .... gas station here are nasty messy.

I'll have to see if I get one of these in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the alert.

I rang dealer and asked if this work would wait until my service at the end of April he said if I am having no problems then he would be happy to do the work at the same time. It would be inconvenient for me to take it in before so I am leaving it until then.

Hi castleking

Was this a recall letter or just a letter to check and fix the issue?

I have had the same problem fixed, but paid for it and reported it to VOSA who are saying it is not a safety defect

Don't suppose you have the letter still...
