Alarm Remote start install shopsshops

Hey all,

So since having my wheels stolen and car left on cinderblocks, I was wondering if anyone knew of any reputable alarm install shops.

Researched a bit on the forums and all I could find was that Bimmers are notoriously difficult to put these systems in.

Also welcome to any suggestions as to how to prevent my wheels from being stolen again...car was in a gated driveway.

Thanks in advance!

They're all just deterrence cause if someone really wanted your stuff, they'll get it. I suppose those precautions will just make it a bit harder for them. Aren't BMW wheel locks universal? (Meaning aren't there only a few different 'keys' to open the lugs?)

Does anyone know of any alarm shops that work on E90s?

Also, any recommendations on wheel locks, or are OEM BMW wheel locks the best way to go?

cant believe they stole your 189s, they are not even worth that much these days, but they are panty droppers.

If a thief really wanted your wheels, they wouldnt use a key anyway, they would just try to break the lock off but at least the lock will scare them away next time.

FWIW wheel locks are not the best option either because they can easily break those things if they want to. all they need is the right lug nut and they most likely carry every type under the sun with them.

true but it will be take time to break the wheel lock..robbers want to steal things with less hassle less time. scratch the wheel on top of that. who would go thru all that trouble when they can get a car without wheel locks

i always have wheels locks on stock or aftermarket

Yeah...I really did love the design, they were in good condition too. =[

The wheel locks are just another annoyance for them, but if they really wanted my wheels, they'd get them. I really can't believe that they opened my gate, and did work under my motion-sensored spotlights 20 feet from my bedroom window...

What about non BMW OEM locks then? I suppose those keys are a bit more difficult to come by? Anyone recommend a particular brand?

Still looking to get a Viper Alarm system with Tilt and Remote Start installed though...anyone have experience with one?

with alarm or without alarm if they want to take ur car they will first time around they will check if ur car has alarm...2nd time around ur wheels are gone.. who ever took ur wheels knew what they were doing and had an eye on it, it wasnt just a random car they saw ur wheels n decided to take them.

Yup, they definitely had it scoped out for a while...surprised they didn't try to take the headlights or the side mirrors.

An alarm would be good against something like that though, a tilt sensor would cause the alarm to go off blaring if the car is jacked up with the alarm armed. Definitely thinking of investing in one now, just need to look for a shop that knows what they're doing installing them in Bimmers.

I heard good things about these guys:

Unexpected Creations Llc

They do alarms & audio upgrades on BMW's.

Hey setofvs, just out of curiosity (completely unrelated the the topic), do the initials GSW ring a very familiar bell to you? PM me if it does

Not so much worried about the car itself being stolen. More so about just the added security of not having to worry about my wheels getting jacked. If they did it once, they'll probably do it again.

Other than wheel locks and a lock on the gate, I can't think of another solution other than maybe setting up a video camera.
