Very Minor Concerns in new E92
Hey Guys...
About 220 miles in and I have 2 minor concerns/questions(And yes, I utilized the before posting this...: -The rear edge of the drivers side door(e92), the side that meshes with the rest of the body when closed, keeps getting hit by the seatbelt when I release it. In fact, there are already 2 small nicks in the leather. Any way to prevent this? -Drivers seat(ZSP)...When I fully extended the bottom of the seat(basically pulling the lower part of the seat toward the front of the car, thus exending it), the leather detached from the front. That leather piece snapper back in, but I am unsure if it is secure. Has anybody else seen this? Couldn't be happier with the car. Thanks in advance. |

Seats Belts=Be careful
Seems that no matter where I want to hand off the seat belt there is something to hit. I have found that a different Underhand technique seems to do the trick. You know Undo the belt and instead of taking the buckle back and over, take it over, down and back to return it to the ready position. Seems to do the trick. Leather seat issue... Might want to at least show the dealer, make sure it's nothing or at least put together correctly. How's Your Navi Thus Far?

Navi seems faster than my e90(Sept 05 Build) by leaps and bounds. I am enjoying the RTTI.
2 minor things that have me shaking my head about the Navi... 1) Why wouldn't BMW build in functionality to search for POI from the highest level!?!! This would be an easy build and very useful. If you don't know what category something is in, then you are screwed. Doesn't make sense. 2) The new "Preset" buttons. They store RDS info from when you program the button. So, I programmed a radio station and "Stairway to Heaven" was playing. Now, it always says "Stairway to Heaven" when I hit that preset. Further, every time my fingers get anywhere near those buttons, the idrive screen gives me the "These buttons can be used to store presets etc etc..." message. Wondering when it will stop doing that. |

Cowbell - On the seat I'd take it to the dealer and see what they say. On the RDS issue what I did was wait till the RDS showed the name of the station before I put the station on a particular preset. It did that to me too with the name of the song but if you catch it right with the name of the station it will stay that way too. Stupid thing...
Hope you are havin tons of fun!!! |

Cool, RTTI FTW... 90% of the time I don't need it on my 1.5 mile commute, but it's still pretty cool.
Yeah When I had my GPS replaced right after picking up the car, it was a whole new i-drive interface, color, and performed about 90% better than the previous one when it was working. All I know, no Bullshit, is that this car makes me happy every time I get behind the wheel. Makes me want to take the long way home, and just keep driving. That is worth the price of admission... Well that and the Highschool girls love it... Which is, as I've mentioned, disconcerting.

For the seatbelt, you almost have to walk it back behind the seat--once you get in the habit, you won't even notice having to do it.
Havent had that issue with my sport seats--as others have said, I would take it in and see what they say...
