Exclamation Metal Washer on Top Hat?

I replaced my top hat on the drivers side this weekend and also reinstalled the metal washer which came off my stock suspension. I took a look at real OEM just to confirm what the washer is actually for and it is not even on the parts diagram Does anyone know what this metal washer is or if i need to run it on my KW's? It looks exactly like the paper washer for the top hat except it is made out of steel and is about 4-5mm thick. The paper washer is number 5 in the diagram.

#5 in that picture is not a paper washer. It's a metal collar about a 1/4" thick.

I would. If the car came with it I would leave it. If you go into the xi section there have been a few people that have kept it off to lower the front end further but since you have key's you can lower as much as you want.

My thought is that it was put there for a reason.

On the RWD it is a paper-like gasket, less then 1mm thick. I know cause I just swapped it our on my susp last week. PN 31306772226, as per realoem.

Maybe on the AWD it's a metal collar...

It's a metal spacer. I think it's there for extra clearance. It's only on xi's.
