Trying to find the right car.. what should I pay?

I've been having a really hard time finding the car I want, I'm sort of picky. I want a 335i coupe 07/08 preferably CPO, black on black, 6MT, loaded, in the NY tri-state area or close.

Everything I find is sedans, automatics.. so I feel like if I do find this car I'll almost have to buy it. But what should I pay?

What are you willing to take on in the mileage department?

Just about anything, really. My budget is kind of tight so I can't afford to be picky. Under 60,000 hopefully.

Also, I forgot to mention.. I'm 21. State Farm told me $500 a month for insurance. What companies should I try to find an actually reasonable rate at?

$500 a month?! damn! I pay $500 for 6 months with Geico. If you have a 3.0 or above you can get a "good student discount" which is about $150/6 months. Give them a call and see what other discounts they can offer you. I'm in some professional societies in my field and they were able to give me some additional discount because of those.

That's a rough quote, though I was getting similiar quotes when I was looking for rates on my 370Z 2 years ago (I was 21 then).

Luckily Geico had a promotion going where they would give you your parents rate if they had Geico, and you went onto your own policy.

See if there is something around like this.

In the last year, I have had 3 cars, coverage equal, MONTHLY rates were as follows:

370z: $145
Jeep: $112
328xi: $165

$500 a month is with the good student discount.. with a $1000 deductible and when I take defensive driving I'll be looking at $450 a month with State Farm, including multi-car discount. Geico wasn't any better.
