JB3 535 guys... - Any issues at all?

From the looks of it there might be some time before we have a viable option when i comes to tunes for the N55 so I may have to go back to the JB3 days...

Any downside so far for the guys running the JB3 tune now?

Alan

YES. No stage 2 upgrade according to Terry at Burger Tuning. Unlike 335i N55 and E60 N54, there will be no upgrade. Apparently, there aren't enough F10 N55 out owners out there for them to want to invest the money and time developing it. I am a little disappointed.
But it is still a good stage 1 tune. Especially for the price

Works beautifully. Car became very responsive, no lag whatsoever and so much more fun to drive even in D mode. I am not even talking about S or M and in Sport or Sport+ Mode.
Awesome.
Highly recommend.
I have not tried adjusting a boost yet. I want to get used to 3.5 boost until I want so more juice :-) But there is an option to adjust a boost through optional usb wire and through specific JB software

I have had it on my car for over 16 months and not one issue and no codes. I got my service done with it still attached and they did not even detect it.

Sold the car and have now placed the JB4 on sale in Classified section.

How is the power though? Is it night and day difference compared to stock?

when i got a tune for my 335 it was insane how much faster the car is.

Id757 was kind enough to let me take his 535 for a spin (thyanks again Id757). I'm now convinced of the value of the tune and am in the processes of getting it.

Are you running this in your 535i F10? I have a 2011 F10 535i 6-speed manual. If so did you feel any improvements?

it is a noticeable difference, but you can't compare to the 335 kit, I heard.

Yes, there is definitely an improvement. You should get it used on the classified section.

Are there any problems with check ups with BMW knowing you have a tune on. Or is the JB3 erasable ?

It's a must in my view, the ride feels entirely different.

Am running stock but that's good enough for me. Let us know how it goes if you tweak boost. In Singapore, it's traffic lights every other corner... As the joke goes, it's a race to the next light

Any updates?

I figure its been awhile and more people should have this tune by now.

ANY issues or codes to report while running the JB3?

Also...My car will be a 2013 535xi, which harness will my car need?

Thanks,
Alan

you will need the B harness (pls confirm when ordering as it was ok for the '12 model). Tune is good value for money considering the alternatives out there. Install is OK, not a piece of cake but nowhere close to impossible. I would recommend a Bav. Tech. cable for trouble shooting alongside the JB3.

Yeah i have the Bavtech cable and I've messed around with my E90 enough to know the deal. I went from JB3 to Procede to Cobb with my current car.

I just don't want to deal with sudden CEL's while i'm driving around with my new born baby in the car and have to listen to my wife complain why I have to mess with the car...

well i doubt the wife comments would go away regardless of the CEL situation
but I feel you re: coments with newborn in car - that is your call. A car is subject to a failure at any time. That being said, I don't think the jb3 (when properly used according to the type of fuel you have, etc) increases those chances in a significant way.
