CPO Pricing help
I'm starting my search for a CPO 335i and want to know how I should approach dealers. In general, do BMW dealers use "internet" pricing, or are they negotiable From what I've seen here recent buyers have been able to get one or several thousand off the advertised price, is that what I should expect? When I was buying my TL the dealer said their internet price was the bottom line, even though I found the exact same car a few towns over for $4000 less. Didn't make sense to me and I obviously ended up buying the cheaper one, but they wouldn't budge.

I always take a CPO internet pricing as a asking price and will try my best to negotiate down. I brought the price 3k down when I got mine in 2010 so it's definitely possible to negotiate

'08 e92 CPO buying story!
In January i purchased '08 328i coupe with manual trans, sapphire black, sport pkg, premium pkg, cold pkg, no NAV. New tires.
I was looking for the car with manual and no local dealer had any, so i left my number to the sales guy in the case something comes up. Funny enough, i get a call from him in few days and telling me that he received an '08 with manual with just under 25k miles on it and told me to come back in a weeks time when its going to be ready for me to see it. Once i did, saw the car, test drove it and checked its service history. Everything was fine however, i did not care for black color and that it was sulev. Asking price was $29300 but he told me that was the price for me since i inquired for the car first, i told him that i was looking for around 27k and he came back with $27500 + fees. Anyway, i told him that i wanted to think about it. One week later, i went over there again and drove it again and interesting enough, window sticker was $30998. I still was not sure but he wanted me to make an offer so just told him that i was still not sure. Anyway, he wanted me to make an offer so i just told him that previous price that he gave me, $27500, if he can make it that amount out the door that i would buy it and of course i was a bit ashamed that i even low balled him but i was convinced that they will decline so i can move on! He told me that he does not make any money at that price but also asked me if i would buy it that day and i confirmed! He comes back few minutes later and says that they can make it for $27835 out the door which means that i got the car for $25335. BMW also had special, 0.9% for 4 years and first two payments paid by BMW of NA. So, i put down $5k, got 0.9% for 4 years, $486 a month, and first two payments paid by BMW so $25335 minus two payments $972, my car costed me $24363! I think that its great deal! I couldn't even get that buying it from private person. Thats my buying story! Last edited by Krstich; 03-27-2012 at 06:52 PM.. |

everything is negotiable, as long as you want it enough and present yourself aggressively
