2012 328i Payment Options

I've been trying to find the best deal at different dealerships around South Florida and this is the best I've been able to get so far. The car is an AW/black interior Sport Line with the only option being power seats. MSRP is $39,290 and it totals out to be $41,681.23. I'm still debating wether I should buy or lease, but if I decide to buy I can pay a $2,500 down w/ $740/mo for 60 months or $5,000 down w/ $692 for 60 months. Lease option is $2,500 down w/ $522/mo for 36 months and 12k miles. You guys think I can lower the price? 42k for a 328 with barely any options seems pretty high. Also any dealer recommendations in South FL?

Wow, that does seem high, especially on the lease price. You don't by any chance have a trade-in do you? I know my dealer (Hilton Head BMW) just knocked off a grand before they even approached me with the numbers, so they definitely have money to play with. See if they can get you down closer to invoice.

you shouldn't put money down on a lease. Use MSDs.

You put down multiple security deposits, up to 7. Each one lowers your money factor. I can't remember how much.

You get the money back at the end of the lease as long as you don't have any excessive wear charges at the end of the lease.

I would not put $$ down on a lease. I would do MSD's but I chose not to this time.

it's like putting your money into a CD. instead of earning interest on the money you lower the interest rate on the car. I think it's by .0007 with each deposit.
