Engine failure

I dont know if this has happened to anyone else or i could have missed it in the forums, but just a few days ago, my engine died on me while driving and i had to get it towed to the dealer. Now they are saying i have to wait a week for an entirely new engine. Anyone else have a defective engine, or was it just me?

I just heard they are replacing a dead engine up here in one of the Toronto BMW dealers (Parkview), but it is related to the oil cooler problem.
