BMW F30 Factory Tires / Tyres?

Hello BMW Enthusiast,

Does the F30 335i have Pirelli tires or The Bridgestone tires?

I know there runflats. And post what tires you got in You Ultimate Driving Machine

Within a diameter (") bracket of tire, are they all the same generation runflat? Ie. Should we be hoping we don't get a certain random tire within the group?

Different manufacturers went into runflats at different times, so their generations are different.

All the new ones for the F30 are supposed to be good, but we will have to wait for owners reports to see the differences

E60 520d and current 330d came with Bridgestone Potenza's on their 18" alloys. Because of tire changes, the 330d now had Pirelli PZero's all around.

Neat, those look a little different than the 18" version. those look like summer tires.

The PZero is a ultra high performance summer tire, like the S001

Is it possible that the 335i sport line 18s are coming with more summer tires rather than all season? Anyone notice that pattern at all? I know tire rack says the 335i 18" sport line have the summer Pirelli rather than the all season one.

Does anyone have any idea of whether or not the sport line 335i comes with summer rather than all season?

F30 '13 328xi contiprocontact reporting... Same as with the E90 contis RFT harsh...
also called tirerack to confirm and was told only the bridgestones offer 3rd gen run flats so in so many words not all F30's get some more of a compliant ride..

New tires

I have a 335i with 27000km (live in South Africa). Thinking of buying new rear tires soon as our tire dealers are running some good specials until end of Sep. I currently have Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT, "255 x 35 x19", thinking of changing to Michelin Sport? Any suggestions on what I should get or should I stick with the Potenza's?

So after reading around A LOT in various BMW forums, I still can't decide what types of runflat tires are best.

I drive a Modern Line, F30, 2013 328i. The post below says that they should have come with the Continental Sport Contact 5 SSR's, but I believe they came with the Continental Sport Contact SSR's.

Anyone have any ideas? I basically want a tire that runs well over pot holes (comfort), has the same treadlife (so USQG 400 is what my current tires have) and the same grip.

I really like my current tires because I can turn hard until they feel like they are slipping, go further and they feel very forgiving.

Any thoughts? Any experience from other F30 drivers with RFT's that had GOOD experience with their RFT's that they'd like to share?

Thanks in advance!

Are you looking for summer or all season? My 335 came with 18" Michelin Pilot PS/2's which were great. Smooth ride, amazing grip, excellent handling. I put a set of all seasons on 17" rims for winters (Michelin MXM4's) and they were great as well.

My 340 came with the Bridgestone S001's and they ride smooth, but I'm not fond of the handling. I find if pushed coming around a corner, you can feel them roll a lot and slip (and they are 19" wheels!) My SA had Pirilli's on his 335 and he didn't like them at all.

I might sound biased to Michelin, but in the past I've ran Good Year, Michelin, Continental, Toyo, Yokohomo, Norian, etc, and Michelin has always exceeded the others (in my mind). For pure summer tires, apparently the Michelin Super Sport get amazing reviews. Check out tirerack.com, and their reviews if you'd like a bit more info.

I have a F30 328i sportline with 18x8s and bought Bridgestone Driveguard run flats 245/45R18 at Costco - $70 off 4 Bridgestone tires yesterday. The size is within Costco 3% (actual 2.7%) oversize policy. The oem size 225/45R18 was not available for order - not in production at the moment. The Bridgestone Driveguard tired with Costco discount came out to under $200 per a tire (free shipping to Hawaii). The wider tire fills up the wheel well more. The car is sits slightly higher, it sort of looks like F30 MSport fender gap, 1 finger on the rear fender wells. Can't give you a review of the tire since it was mounted yesterday.

The stock Pirelli P7 RFT had a firmer ride and lasted 27000 miles for mostly city driving. The rear passenger side tired was showing the cord on the inside shoulder so I needed replacement immediately.
