Fellow M3poster in Europe I NEED your help
Hi,
Long story short, I'm going to be visiting UK for the first time ever in my life because my girlfriend is currently studying @London. I really want to travel to Germany to visit the famous Nurburgring. My question is, what are some of my options. A quick google search give me these results by Train: http://www.seat61.com/Germany.htm by Driving: http://nurburgring.org.uk/directions/index.php There's many circumstances to overcome via either route. Please chime in and provide me some opinions. Much appreciate your help! Also, what kind of precautions should I take? Nurburgring blackout dates maybe? Any comments would help. Thank You so much!

Train would probably be the way to go. I was checking out the schedule the other day. Here's a link to the schedule -
http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/angebo...dschleife.html and link to near by hotels - http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/busine...nce-rates.html There's plenty of info on their site. They've made much improvement in the past few years. Have Fun - |

Thanks!
well I do plan on driving on the ring, I think it would be wise not to rent a car near the ring right? Then where should I rent a car from? I'm not going to rent a something luxurious or a pure sports car unless they have specials going on. I just want to rent a small compact car simply for the purpose to drive on the ring.

Go to the link. You can rent a car @ the ring or you should be able to pick one up @ Europcar. http://www.europcar.com/
If you have time, take some of the driving classes offered there. Been wanting to take the Formula 1 classes for a couple years now - Open wheels & cockpit would be a rush. |

I would strongly advice to NOT go on the ring in a rented car...if you get involved in any kind of accident, even minor one, you'll be in a load of sh*t...remember that NS is still a public road and if anything happens involving 2 cars or more, the police comes out...all rental car companies do not allow to go on the NS with their vehicles...if you really want to ride the NS, then do it with your own car or rent a dedicated car near the NS...like rent@ring or something like this...not cheap though...
