Get Michelin PSS's - better in every way to the PS2's.

+1 Replaced my tires (on the other car) with the PSSs, cannot be happier! Hands down a huge improvement over PS2s. Since you are lowered you can stick with stock sizing, but I'll likely go with 255s front 285s rear when I do the switch.

+2, you don't even have a tire choice for street (and occasional track) driving with the 1M in my opinion, they are goooood and also cheaper. With a lowered car definitely stay stock.

+3 for the PSS's huge upgrade from the PS2's and ~$100 per tire less cost.

Just about...EVERYTHING: handling, road noise, tread wear, hydroplaning, compound, structure, price, etc..

Go to Tirerack and you can compare them side by side and read all the user reviews

Anybody ever tried the Continental Extreme Contact DW tires? For the size I want they would end up being about $500 less than the PSS tires. That's 265 front and 285 rear. PSS would be 265 front and 295 rear (they don't make a 285).

I'm sure they PSS tires are better then the Conti's but considering they only last a year or less I'm thinking I might try the less expensive ones. Also I'm not 100% certain the 295 will fit on the stock wheel.

EDIT: Added DW to the Conti tire name. I guess there are several iterations.

I've used the Conti extreme contact 2 and 3 on M3's and they're awful compared to the PS2, the PSS are miles better.

If you want to go cheap and you want grip, go with the Hankook RS3

I had the Conti DW tires on my e92 M3 and felt they were every bit as good as the PS2 but much quieter and more comfortable on a daily basis.

I had them on my old 128i with 18 inch VMR wheels. They were great in my opinion. No issues with noise and coming from run flats they were way more comfortable.

I've driven an E90 M3, a 1M and M6 on the DW's and I'd have to say the PS2's are better on the track but the DW's are more forgiving once you lose traction, the DW's are a much better value and a little quieter and softer riding (the softer riding is what's hurting the track performance imo)

Good tire considering the price they're being blown out for right now.
