Black 330(?) Penn Plates (?) pulled over on I80 into Ohio about Midnight Friday Night

Okay, So I'm driving my girlfriend's Tiag 335i sedan on I80 Friday night on our way to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. As soon as we cross the stateline I tell my girlfriend how notorious the cops are in Ohio for pulling over speeders. Just as I finish speaking the words when my radar/laser detector goes ape shit. I slam on my brakes and just as I did an all black 330 (I think) with Penn plates (once again, I think) blows by me. I wanted to scream out NOooooo, but it was too late, i saw that cop flash his lights and pull my BMr brother over. I wanted to take a quick pic, but happened way too quick. So, if you read this mr. black 330, I'm sorry and only wish I could've warned you in another way.

yea that sux, I drove to Chicago from Youngstown last month, and no lies, there was a state trooper either waiting to pull someone over or already pulled someone over every ~15 miles! I cruise at 75 now...

The state troopers have been hovering around I-480 for the past two weeks now. I wonder why the increase in enforcement?

On Saturday Morning, between Columbus and King's Island (outside Cincinnati) on I-71, I counted 10. That is approximately 1 every 10 miles!

I drive Detroit to Cleveland just about every week and they are crawling that stretch of I80. 100% lazer behind the concrete divided median.

My radar was silent for maybe 10 minutes the entire I80 drive thru Ohio. btw it was an older 330...like 2003 or 2004. I'd say he was going about 85 or 90 when he got picked off....That's about how fast I was going b4 I through on the airbrakes....

That is a change from when I used to drive that same route about 4 years ago.

At that time the patrol was very light and once I knew where they hid, they didn't stand a chance. I could make it from Ann Arbor, MI to Richfield, OH (south of Cleveland) in 2 hours flat and that is the god's honest truth. Never got caught thankfully, but I had some strange looks at the tollbooths from time to time.

I used to drive from CT to Delaware, OH for 4 years on I80. I would cruise at 85 to 90 mph and never had a ticket. The only problem was when i got to Ohio everyone there drives like F*cken sheep (55 in the passing lane). I cant stand ohio.

Gee, it's almost as if the prior 12 posts never happened. Scroll up, please, to find out why folks often drive "like sheep" here.

The OSP are relentless.

That said, you can expect to set the cruise at 75 and drive right by a trooper with no worries. 76, and you can expect to see lights in your rearview.

THAT said, I do agree that there seem to be an inordinate amount of people here who lope along in the "passing" lane @ 65. That does get aggravating.

I made it from Battlecreek, MI to Cleveland in just under 2 hours. No joke. Was going 100 to 110km the entire way. I even hit some 15 minute bullshit traffic about 30 mins outside of Cleveland . Talk about dumb but man it was fun.

The cops are usually pretty bad on I-80, but the troopers will be out in force all of May which is almost over thank god, but they'll be out a lot in June as well. Some sort of crackdown on irresponsible driving. Not so much speeding, but the illegal lane changes, following too closely, wreckless op. kinda things. I guess Ohio is already above last years amount of fatal accidents which was close to a record high I believe and we're hardly halfway through the year.

What can ya do? I hate it the most when some rust bucket doing 90+ flies by me. In no way is that even close to safe. Esp. when the shocks are shot and it looks like the car is floating . A BMW doing 90 is a whole different world then other cars going 90 IMO.
