Alpine White with Oyster/Black
Hi folks,
I'm on the verge of plunking down for a new 335d. There are only a few left out there (I wish it wasn't discontinued for 2012). I really like alpine white, but my second choice would be space gray. I'm just a little unsure about the oyster/black interior with the white. The two cars available are: Alpine White, Oyster/Black, M Sport, Premium, Navi Space Gray, Gray Dakota, Sport, Premium, Navi I think I like the M Sport wheels better. But does anyone think Alpine White with Oyster/Black might be a tad ...... gay? (For lack of political correctness) Some dealer pics: |

I don't know,,, it's hard to tell from pictures, but from what I can see I could get use to the oyster, AW combo. If you have kids I can see it getting trashed pretty easily though since it's so light. Even the saddle brown in my car is showing grit.

Kids yes, but they spend most of their time in the van. The oyster will definitely require staying on top of in the cleaning department though.
The van has an interior very close to the dakota gray color, which isn't too dark. It has, with regular leather cleanings and conditionings (an absolute must), stayed looking pretty good. Last edited by ljgmdad; 01-30-2012 at 10:55 AM.. |

Anyhow, that's precisely what gives me pause. However I will say the interior does look a bit lighter/whiter in the pics than in person... but I guess not by much. It's an off-white basically. |

I have light colored interiors and find them too hard to keep clean. Never had white car with light interior. I personally don't care for it.

If you are having any doubts it may not be right. Are you going to be "settling" on a major aspect of your $40-$50K car? I think it looks pretty safe, white-bread, vanilla, hollow, dull... but I'm a coral red fanatic so you might not want my opinion anyway.

I was faced with the exact same situation....I looked at a e92 M-sport in Mineral White with Oyster/Black interior....and honestly, my first thought getting into it....was that it was feminine. That's just MY opinion and why I didn't buy it. I have nothing against Alpine or Mineral White....those exterior colors are fine (almost bought a used AW M3 but it wasn't in good shape on exterior), but the Oyster/Black interior for a man's car is a tad...feminine. Just my $.02. Just wanted you to know you're not alone in feeling that way. And yes, the cream/white colored leather will be a b*tch to keep clean, esp with jeans.

I ended up just blacking out, black leather, M-Sport headliner, anthracite bamboo, and it's just much easier from a peace of mind standpoint. Always remember you're going to be sitting in the car, not looking at pictures of it. If you're going to hate every smear and mark then don't get almost-white leather, because it's just going to happen. |

I have oyster/black interior in my AW car. I also have the anthracite headliner and the interior trim is dark burl. This was not my first choice for colors but I got such a great deal on the car that I could not say no. I love the interior now, it's fantastic. The contrast with the black and the oyster leather is really nice and even the wood trim looks good with it, and I have always hated wood trim. I've always had black interiors but this light color works really well and I'm glad I got it. In hindsight, the only interior color I would rather have would be the coral red but I don't think you can't get it in the E90 335i so to me this is the best available color scheme

Well I have had light gray leather interiors, and didn't have any blue jean dyed seats then. So I'm not sure that's really an issue.
It's mainly an aesthetic issue I think..... |

If you put some nice black rims, and front bumper splitter, itd look sick! i love the AWs with black rims!
As far as the interior, its more about how you feel you/your friends/kids will treat it...

Just make sure that you have plenty of Madonna and Lady Gaga to listen to when you're heading to the rest stop.
If you have doubts, don't do it.
