Odd smell - Vinegar
I picked up my 335i in 10/2011. No problems to date. 4 or 5 times over the past month, while driving on the highway I've noticed the distinct smell of Vinegar coming through the HVAC system. At first I though it was something outside, but it has now happened a few times in a few different locations. I have no idea what it could be.
Anyone experience this? Suggestions? More often than not, there is no odor coming from the system. Thanks! |

Ah well, that explains it then. The nav system runs on vinegar.

HAd the SAME thing in my 05 several years back. I thought I was going crazy. It was off and on and I swore that somebody was messing with me. No idea what it is and I ended up selling it before I ever figured it out.

It could be a long shot but I'm a smoker and when I used to smoke in my car and needed to drive somebody that didn't like the smell, I would take a glass of white vinegar and put it on the dash over night. It would completely take care of the smell. Maybe thats what someone did to yours to get rid of an odd smell and it's just lingering deep in the car somewhere. I see that it's a 2011 so it wouldn't make sense if you bought new.

Then it probably found itself a chippy and munched!
A quick Google search provides the answer. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...5150247AA8Mp2h Last edited by SomeRandomer123; 01-29-2012 at 09:27 AM.. |
