Fender rolling help from those that have had it done on E92
I know this should probably be in the cosmetics section but I figured I'd get quicker responses here...
I have a guy coming over in a few hours to do it for me. He has a great rep here but after talking to him on the phone, it doesn't sound like he's done an E92 before. I was out looking at my rear and I'm just wondering (for those that have done this) if you can use the roller to push out the rear bumper too? I can't tell if that's necessary? I would assume people that have done this know what I'm talking about?

No, but if you roll the fender well near where it attaches to the bumper, the bumper will bow out slightly since it is attached.
If you are rubbing on the bumper, your best option is to trim the plastic. |

OK thanks. That's what I figured. What's crazy is I have the rear m sport bumper at a body shop getting painted for install soon. So that was my big concern. The guy with the roller thinks he can only get 3-5mm on the fender of an E92. That might be all I need anyway. I only put 10mm spacers on with pretty aggressive offset wheels. But with all the crazy aggressive setups on this site...I'm assuming it has to be possible to roll these fenders out pretty far.....or at least more than that?

hmmmm....makes sense and I have never seen anyone say/show that. Not sure if I need them pulled I guess....but I thought that's what rolling did. I thought the roller flared the fender out more either way.
So what are most on this site getting? rolled or pulled?

Roll up the inner steel lip, then trim the plastic bumper where it can contact the tire. All you should have to trim is the inner edge of the bumper. You may also be able to loosen the screws for the plastic brackets to which the bumper snaps and push them out a bit as well.
If you have to really pull the fenders out, that may crack the paint. If this is the case, I'd drop down to 5mm spacers to avoid having to pull the fender arches out and damaging the paint.

I only need a few mm so I don't think this will be a problem....
What do you suggest using to do the trimming? So I guess from reading this, the answer is that most on here are not pulling their fenders......

I would recommend a 5mm spacer instead, unless you get an aggressive fender roll. |

Damn....I know I've seen much more aggressive setups on here....it really looks like it won't take much...but after you showing me this...I think it may require a slight pull...not just a roll...

Got it done. This guy came to my house with everything and was awesome. I now have no rubbing. He had to pull just a little. After two years of wanting this done....finally. Don't think I'll ever be able to go 15mm...unless I got 265 I guess. I was thinking getting invo's in that size.
Thanks for the help...
