Standard or Sports Seats

New to the forum and I\'m sure this has been discussed before (though I can\'t find it).

I\'ve just ordered next company car, F20 118d SE (with a few tweaks).

Opted for the SE with upgraded alloys ahead of the sport because I do a lot of motorway miles and thought the standard seats would be more comfortable on long journeys than the sport.

Having placed my order though I\'m starting to sweat that I may have made the wrong choice (have checked and I have a small window to change the spec).

I\'ve sat in both at the showroom but its hard to judge what they\'ll be like on long journeys.

Could anyone provide advice based on their experience of sport and standard seats?

Much appreciated

The sport seats felt nice and comfy to me although only have the test drive to go on as I'm still waiting for delivery. I think they will have the same controls as the sport seats i have in my current 120i M-Sport. The side supports are adjustable with a switch, so you can have the support if you want it on the twisty roads, but have it set nice and wide for the motorway.

I've never had a problem with the current one on the motorway so i didn't have any worries ordering them for my new one.

I drove new 118i sport for 4 days on autobahns and sport seats are definitely tiresome for long trips. Regular seats in my X1 are much better siuted for long drives. After 3 hours drive from Salzburg to Vienna i wasn't exactly tired but i wasn't relaxed either.

I have had my 116D SE for just over a month now and do alot of motorway miles, I have the standard seats and must say they are very comfortable.

Go for the sport seats. They are very comfortable and provides full support with back, thigh adjustment.
They are unlike those molded non adjustable sport seats. So don't worry, you will enjoy it.

Thanks again for all the feedback.

I went with the sports seats in the end.

Can't wait to get my car now!

good decision! The sport seats are very comfortable and I think they are almost perfect. There are more possibilties to adjust them compared to the standard seats so it is easier to create the ideal seat. Adjustable side supports, you can tilt the chair and the length of the seat is adjustable. I am very happy that I ordered them in my 116d.

Happy to hear the sport seats are almost perfect! With my length of 1.96 mtr it will be nice to extend the leg support ;-)

Even I'm only 170cm, the two level extended leg support really comfortable. :
