I'm not aware of another tuner who offers a 4 year 50,000 mile with their products, do you know of any?

Don't have too much faith in that warranty.
What happens when a waste gate or turbo blows?
You think Dinan will just step up and repair it? Or will they blame BMW for bad waste gates and turbo's based on what happened with the N54 motor?
And once the dealer notices there's not top speed limiter or there's more power being produced than the engine is suppose to make, they'll void everything related to the engine too.
This has happened to 335 owners already.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

No, do you?

Having a 4 year warranty 50k miles does not constitute the most trusted.

Hell, I can place a 4 year warranty 50k miles on something too.

Fact is, there are plenty of complaints regarding Dinans matching warranty and you should start by understanding that it isnt 4 year 50k mile from the date of install, instead it runs along your factory warranty.

http://www.dinancars.com/warranty.aspx READ IT! Surely you read it before installing their products on your car.

So, yes, if your talking about that link above, Hartge and AC Schnitzer both have similar warranties. As a matter of fact, Hartge takes it one step further and takes out a modification warranty with a Swiss warranter that runs for 2 year from date of install and is renewable for up to 5 years from the date of install.

Dinan does not towing to their facility, rental car! Their exclusion paragraph is enough to make my brain hurt, why dont they just make an inclusion sentence it will be shorter.

Hartge and AC Schnitzer are sold the world over and have a longer intimate relationship with BMW.

I am not knocking Dinan, I just think its incredible pompous and small minded to say the most trusted BMW modification company when their global reach is small.

May I know how does this ECU refresh differ from powerbox eg. BMS JB3 for N55?

I am under the impression that Dinan, being one of the last to enter the market, does a more intensive testing.

"The Authorized Dinan Dealer will, without charge for parts or labor, repair or replace the defective Dinan component(s), as well as any original vehicle manufacturer's component(s) that may have been directly affected by a Dinan component, using new or authorized remanufactured parts"

So if BMW blames Dinan for some failure caused by their part, and Dinan disagrees, you're stuck in the middle having to pay for the repairs, but how common is that really? There are lots of rumors online, but the only clear case I could find is for someone who had a problem after racing their car, and the Dinan warranty specifically says that they will not cover cars which are "operated in any competitive event". I'd be interested to see other examples.

This still blows away the other 3rd parties out there which are not taking any responsibility for the damage that could be caused by their parts, in fact some of them go as far as suggesting that you remove their parts before warranty claims to avoid being denied coverage, for example from a popular tuner: "we suggest removing any modifications prior to making a warranty claim. This is to ensure they are not causing the problem". If their part is causing the problem, removing the part is not going to magically cause the part to not cause the problem. This seems more like encouraging the customers to commit warranty fraud.

Personally, I won't give my money to companies with such unethical behavior. Dinan still looks to me like the best option out there, as long as you are ready to pay a premium.

Edit: I just checked out AC Schnitzer and they seem to provide a similar warranty to Dinan, kudos to them as well. It might be a bit trickier just in case something goes wrong since they are based in Europe. I also don't think they go through CARB certification which is required for the folks living in California. So my preference would still be for Dinan being in the US.

I'm confused...you start a thread stating that the tune is available for F10 535i and then when reading the text quoted it says that the tune will "available soon"...

ACS and Hartge are great as well but pretty non existent here in the US compared to Dinan. I'd venture to say you'd have a hell of a harder time with a warranty claim from those two then Dinan here in the US. Since Dinan's market is here that's to whom they are directing that press release and they are right there isn't anyone in the BMW tuning community here in the US who backs their products like Dinan. That said I don't have any Dinan products and since I don't care about the warranty I have no need for them. Besides if someone has paid for everything they offer for the 550i for example they've already overpaid enough to cover 90% of all possible issues.

My point exactly. The same be said about Dinan anywhere else outside America. My point is, the article is written as if nothing exists outside America, I think its disrespectful and false to claim to be the most reputable BMW modification company.
